Redirect from virus name to virus species

The problem outlined in the redirect page is inherited in the binomial virus classification system introduced a few years ago. Virus species, here the species Alphanudivirus oryrhinocerotis can (but rarely do) have several viruses assigned to it. In this case (like in most others) only one virus, here the Oryctes rhinoceros nudivirus is assigned to the species. Therefore, it does not make sense to have separate pages for both, because the content of the pages would be identical. Bernhard Zelazny (talk) 22:01, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
