Date clarification needed[edit]

From the lede:

"Alle Jahre wieder" (English: "Every year again") is a well known German Christmas carol, written in 1837 by Johann Wilhelm Hey [de] (1789–1854). [...] Other melody versions come from [...] Christian Heinrich Rinck, 1827 who also set these words to music.

If Hey didn't write the words until 1837, how could Rinck have set them to music in 1827?
