Relation to Alismales[edit]
Some sources seem to list Alismales as an order, described as "aquatic monocotyledonous herbaceous plants." The 1974 Encyclopedia Britannica seems to list a macropedia article on the same name, although I have not been able to locate a copy of the text. Is Alismatales a synonym for Alismales, or is there some reorganization going on? It might be good to clarify, if relevant. Thoughts? --TeaDrinker (talk) 23:00, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Translation suggestion[edit]
It had been suggest at the top of the article that the Spanish version -- far more extensive than here -- [1] be translated and material incorporated in this English version. If anyone is up to the task, why not go for it. Meanwhile there are other sources for diagnostic information. J.H.McDonnell (talk) 20:19, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Logical error[edit]
This line from the "Description" section appears to contain a logical flaw:
"Both marine and freshwater forms include those with staminate flowers that detach from the parent plant and float to the surface where they become pollinated."
Since the staminate flowers are male pollen bearers, they cannot BE pollinated, they SUPPLY the pollen for pollinating female floral parts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmmeiss (talk • contribs) 13:32, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
