"El de los monos"?[edit]

What does "El de los monos" mean in English? Manxruler 11:49, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out. I have now added the translation, it means "He of the monkeys". Gibmetal 77talk 00:55, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article arguably breaks Wikipedia:Notability (people)[edit]

I have not been able to find any "published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of" Alfred Holmes. As a result, I believe that the article may have broken the guidelines as par WP: Notability (people). I would like to ask that people work to try and solve the problem. I have been trying to look for such material, but I have not found any. If no effective progress seems to have been made within 5 days to resolve the issue, I will put this article up for the deletion process. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 21:06, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have talked to the main contributor to the article, and he has informed me that he does have source material which is suitable. Since we talked, he has gone on holiday, and will be back by the end of next week. Since he has said he does have applicable source material, and because of the fact he is away on holiday until past the deadline I established, I will extend it until the end of the next week. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 16:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The deadline has passed. He has been active since July 22, but no progress has been made on getting this article's notability established. As a result, I will nominate it for deletion. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 07:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC) ==Please take this article to AFD not speedy. You have assurances from an editor that sources are available so please assume Good Faith. By all means take to Afd Kernel Saunters (talk)[reply]

I do not feel that this article is speedy deletable under WP:CSD#A7. This needs to be decided by a deletion discussion at AfD, if at all. Darkspots (talk) 08:07, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, I will nominate the article for deletion by ordinary means. My apologies. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 08:25, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Darkspots (talk) 08:27, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Darkspots and Kernel Saunders for your work on improving the article to, what I can see, the standard required to meet notability guidelines. My apologies for the edit war I engaged in earlier. Keep up the good work, and please continue to improve the article if you have the means to do so. Thanks again. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 20:41, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to thank EasyPeasy21 for being patient while I have been away, as well as thanking Darkspots, Kernel Saunders and RedCoat for their input. --Gibmetal 77talk 09:16, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article may have a conflict of interest[edit]

The main contributor to the article, Gibmetal77, has the same surname as Alfred Holmes, as ascertained by information provided with the photograph. This suggests that he is a relative of Alfred Holmes, which is a conclusion that is supported by the depth of knowledge regarding Alfred Holmes on the article not seemingly being available in any published material that I can find. Whilst I have not found any material on the article which seems to have a COI attached, I have added the COI template as a formality. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 21:31, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe all info on the article which may have been added as a result of a conflict of interest has now been removed. As a result, I think the COI tag should be taken away. Does anyone else agree? EasyPeasy21 (talk) 19:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Removed. RedCoat10 (talk) 20:24, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you RedCoat10. If anyone believes that the COI tag should be re-instated, then please do so, and please could you also explain your reasoning. EasyPeasy21 (talk) 20:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
