Was Alexa McDonough the leader of the Federal NDP during the 1995 Quebec Referendum? Leon Trotsky 8:00 29 October 2005

A belated reply: Yes. Audrey McLaughlin retired in late 1994 and was succeeded by Alexa McDonough in early 1995. —Cuiviénen (Cuivië) 03:18, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You both are out to lunch, she was elected/nominated, depending on how you want to view Svend Robinson's actions at the October 1995 leadership convention, about a week before the Referendum. She wasn't a factor, mind you, Audrey McLaughlin wasn't either.--Abebenjoe (talk) 01:29, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Red Tory conversion quote[edit]

Can anyone find a mainstream media source that confirms she said the following: McDonough reportedly quipped to the media that her strategy was to build up the NDP "one Red Tory at a time". I can't find any, but I'm reasonably sure she said it.--Abebenjoe (talk) 01:29, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
