Albert S. Barker[edit]

During the Spanish American War Barker was not the commanding officer of the USS OREGON (BB-3). Captain Charles Edgar Clark was the CO. I have a mid-1890s photo of the OREGON. The reverse reads that when Barker was CO the executive officer was LCDR Drake...A Wikipedia site on Drake reads that he was XO from 1896-1897, so I suspect Barker was the OREGON's CO 1896 - March 1898 when Clark was given command of OREGON (see Wikipedia on Clark). 2603:8001:BE02:1C41:58B5:21E8:CC0E:BF7D (talk) 21:34, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
