And the final verdict was...?[edit]

Nowhere within this article, I can see what the final decision was: did Baxter get his olympic medal back or did he not? It only states that his chances were good, but then it only goes into the controversy concerning dr Catlin. Does anyone know? Fomalhaut76 (talk) 09:59, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen anything anywhere else to support the claim that Reich returned Baxter's medal to him. I've just read his authorised biography and certainly to that point (shortly before the 2006 Winter Olympics) it hadn't been returned. Jgmccabe (talk) 13:04, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baxter's first name[edit]

According to his authorised biography, Alain Baxter was not named after Alain Penz. Jgmccabe (talk) 13:04, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

International Ski Federation Appeal section[edit]

I'm not sure that section is right. As I remember it, from the biography, the FIS banned Baxter for 3 months but they worked out end date of the ban by some complicated calculations based on certain race series' which resulted in the effective length of the ban being 7 months. The appeal to the CAS was to make the FIS work out the ban duration in a more normal and clear way. I don't think the ban was overturned as such, just corrected. Alain lived in the Tyrol - and did Mr. Raich return the medal?[edit]

When Alain competed in Alpine Skiing he lived in the Tyrol. He could speak German very well, but with a smart accent of English and Tyrolian idioms. - In Austria, it is not told if Benjamin Raich did return the bronze medal to Alain, maybe he did. It is well-known that Mr. Raich wasn't delighted to take the medal because he said "I prefer to win a medal in a sporting manner". There's nothing to be done about that the medal counts for Raich (and the National Olympic Committee of Austria) and there are no "official information" about such an action but it would be a sporting gesture if Mr. Raich had did so. 213.225.11.90 (talk) 17:03, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
