There wording does not meet the impartial tone of WP:NPOV in several places. Rephrase or omit the following:
- and identity as a trailblazer
- An experimentation in hype that turned almost cultish,
- setting the history straight about his integral role in the duo,

The impartial tone section of WP:NPOV gives some guidance on Wikipedia's art articles. - Issues with NPOV are resolved. ALT1 is solid. The other two hooks are verifiable but not present in the article.
