Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film in an African LanguageSembene Ousmane Award for Best Film in an African Language – Multiple reliable sources (1, 2, 3, 4) have confirmed that this award category has been renamed by the award ceremony organizers since 2014. Oppose: per reasons given at Talk:Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Short Film#Renaming. Let me also add that Africa Film Academy are fond of changing the names of her categories quite frequently. Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Nigerian Film has been renamed to Africa Movie Academy Award for Heart of Africa, Bayelsa State Government endowed Award for Best Nigerian Film and Rivers State Government endowed Award for Best Nigerian Film in the last five years. We just can't continue to move articles indiscriminately, when the WP:COMMON name remains constant at Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Nigerian Film, same applies here. I believe this is WP:TOOSOON. I suggest we wait till a few more editions of AMAA before considering moving the article. Darreg (talk) 12:51, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Permit me to also add that MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist has been renamed officially to MTV Video Music Award for Best Artist to Watch since 2013, yet the article remains with the former. Also, MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video has been renamed to MTV Clubland Award since 2014. The point I am trying to make is that there is no hard-and-fast way to it, Wikipedia is very flexible when it comes to things like this. Darreg (talk) 12:51, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: The existing title is still the most used name in reliable sources. per WP:COMMONNAME, the article should retain this title.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 19:26, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Neutral for Now Darreg is correct, these awards seem to change names frequently and the references to the award pretty consistently use the old name. If this new name sticks though, I'd favor this rename in the future. RevelationDirect (talk) 02:24, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
