Dec 22 - I have made some changes this article to correct some oversights, some inaccuracies and to limit the personal commentary. Firstly I've fixed the press conference related material to clarify exactly where it happened. Secondly, I've expanded the Toronto rehearsal material to include reference to their surprise concert there, as well as to correct the statement that the album "A Bigger Bang" was recorded there. It was not.

Finally, I've edited the material regarding Sympathy for the Devil. Though not a part of their regular setlists, Sympathy did appear in concerts throughout the entire decade, and is chronicled as the closing track on 1977's Love You Live.

It seems most if not all of this article was brought over from the Rolling Stones article.

In the opening acts section it seemed someone had listed Alice Cooper three times in the list. Althought humorous I have removed the additional mentions. This is just a sign of the fact that this article needs proofreading. --FK65 18:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made a correction in the first sentence... The Stones played Detroit on August 31, 2005 NOT August 25th as previously written. I was at that show and remember that night very well.

Largest Concert Claims[edit]

The section on the claims of the Rio concert being the biggest ever seem pretty sketchy. If Guinness dismisses it as the biggest concert ever than what exactly are the "several records" that it broke? At the very least, this needs a site for what records it broke. The number of people in attendance needs a site too. I looked around and it seemed that even this fact is pretty disputed and many cite 1.2 million as the official number but I couldn't find a reputable source.

Current quote under "History":

"The outstanding scale of the tour was realised on February 18, 2006 when the Rolling Stones played a one night concert on :Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The free concert was broadcast on television and broke several records as the :largest rock concert of all time. There were a reported 2 million people present on the beach and crowding subsequent :streets. A special tunnel was constructed for the band to cross from the stage to the hotel safely. ... While the :Guinness Book of World Records states the largest free concert ever was given in the same spot in 1994 by Rod Stewart, to :3.5 million people, that figure includes everyone who was on Copacabana Beach for fireworks and New Year's Eve :celebrations, not just for that concert, so The Rolling Stones could hold the title of largest rock concert of all time."

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Number of concert dates.[edit]

Hey, please somebody to control the concert dates, because I counted 146 dates, not 147.
