Suggestions[edit]

I have updated the B class checklist. The article is close, however, it falls down on Coverage and Accuracy. The accuracy is fine as far as I can tell (I'm no expert), however, coverage is an issue as there are large sections that have not been completed. If these can be completed, and appropriately cited then the article should easily be a B class. Can anyone help with this? I don't have any of the sources, so I'm afraid I can't really help out. I'm working on this article, Rupert, but it's going quote slowly, as I only have access to Bolitho on and off when I volunteer at the regimental museum. I have several chapters with me, however, and I'll be moving into the Peninsular War section in a few days. I'm afraid this is something of a long-term project for me - it'll take a while to assemble all the sources, as the regiment had such a long and convoluted history. If I might add a suggestion, a listing of the changes in designations in the opening summary would be most helpful while the rest of the article is in progress. I suspect the KOD became the 3rd Hussars some time around 1822 but as it sits now, the article is disorienting.--Reedmalloy (talk) 05:19, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In 1818 they became the 3rd (King's Own) Light Dragoons. They didn't become the 3rd Hussars until 1861. 192.35.35.36 (talk) 07:14, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Updates[edit]

It's been a while since this was updated - I linked to this based on some work I've been doing on the late 17th century, so I wanted to make sure it tied to that and was consistent. I'm not proposing to go beyond the War of the Austrian Succession.

I was given some great feedback a while ago about remembering the audience and not over-writing ie shorter is better. I found that really helpful even though it meant removing things that I found interesting :). So if I'm over simplifying, please let me know.
