A Place in the Sun[edit]

Don't you think this film, with 6 Oscars, should be mentioned on the 1st paragraph, alongside "An American in Paris" Thanks. 77.127.215.210 (talk) 18:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Any appropriate way to add this info?[edit]

In her first autobiography, Shelley Winters recounts that at the ceremony, she had been conditioned by so many people's certainty that she would win the award that when Ronald Colman — her co-star in 'A Double Life' — got up to read the name, she was certain her name had been read. She got halfway to the stairs before her date, future husband Vittorio Gassman, managed to stop her with the news Vivien Leigh had won instead. I consider it an interesting story worth having in the article, but with the article being such a bare-bones affair at the moment, it would almost seem like one of those "references in pop culture" sections we've been trying to do away with over the years. Advice? 2600:1700:2C0:3850:505:9B40:6C89:3FE1 (talk) 06:46, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Absence of Sammy Davis Jr.[edit]

The Wikipedia entry on Sammy Davis Jr. mentions the Twenty-fourth Academy Awards as being an important occasion in his early career. Yet when I follow this link to this page, I find no mention of him. If this was an important occasion for Davis, doesn't he deserve at least a mention of why? 2603:8001:6701:9125:80B3:89E8:C550:794E (talk) 22:08, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
