Edition-specific information[edit]

I'm thinking that the long paragraphs of general information about the America's Cup should be removed in favour of information that is specific to this particular edition of the event. It is probably a good idea to provide a summary of the overall competition but it currently is too long and makes it difficult for readers trying to find out about this specific edition. Anyone looking for more detailed information about the history and deed of gift should probably be finding it from the America's Cup page rather than this page. Let me know what you think. Host[edit]

Someone needs to add information about the bidding process, and that Barcelona will host in 2024. 122.62.124.200 (talk) 03:12, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Too much context[edit]

In this article, the current entire second-level subheading "History" and the third-level subheading "Rules for Issuing Challenge" seem to belong in the parent article about the America's Cup in general - not in the article about the 2024 edition. The Summary Style editorial policy is that articles should contain information pertinent to the topic specifically, and extensive details about higher or lower level things should be broken off and placed in articles with that relevant scope.

In short - THIS article need not include a description of the entire history of the competition and its rules, but only the rules that are new or especially relevant to this edition, and perhaps the immediate previous edition for context. Wittylama 12:59, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Totally agree! I now shortened the history section drastically and inserted a link to the main article. V.Glas (talk) 12:29, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
