"Potential" candidates[edit]

Are we really going to list every single person that anyone says "could" stand for president between now and 2023? That's gonna be a lot of people! Also, I think the table is unnecessary and will make it quite hard to navigate, the list would be better presented as bulletpoints. The pictures aren't necessary, in my opinion. Date[edit]

Seeing as Czech presidential elections are to be held at fixed intervals, should it not be at Czech presidential election, 2023? Number 57 21:02, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • If Zeman has to step down cos of ill health (as seems likely, to be honest) there will be another one sooner. It's not like the US one where the intervals are fixed come hell or high water. Jdcooper (talk) 23:07, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion polling[edit]

Hi @Bedivere.cs:! I support the move of the opinion polling data to a new article, but I think it would be nice to retain the graphical summary on this page. On many articles that's done automatically, but I don't know how to do that. Do you? Jdcooper (talk) 13:31, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. Its done. --Bedivere.cs (talk) 16:41, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Nice. I have seen on another pages there's a way you can have an image from one article exported to another via a template, so you only have to update new information in one place.. Jdcooper (talk) 16:45, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Structure / section merging[edit]

Hi User:Vacant0, thanks for the attention you have given to this article. Unfortunately your merging of the Background and Endorsements section into an attempted "Campaign" section made a bit of a mess! To be honest I couldn't even work out what you were trying to do, the resulting section was neither chronological nor separated by theme or candidate, just a long paragraph or two of random information. I have split the Party endorsements section back out.. it's fairly self-contained and isn't really part of the campaign.. which should be about the activities of the candidates themselves. We do need more information about that, I would say that could be separated by candidate, at which point information about their nominations/declarations/signatures can go there.. but we just don't have enough information to justify those sections yet, so I put the info about those things back to (roughly) chronological for now. Cheers. Jdcooper (talk) 04:24, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Though, there is still more overlinking in the article and there is still duplicated content (eg. The fact that Jaroslav Bašta is the candidate of SPD is mentioned in the #Candidates table, #Declarations and nominations and #Party endorsements section). Also, the lede is a summary of the whole article, not just the results, so it will have to be expanded. More cleanup will be needed and potentially more campaign details and info about the electoral system should be added because this is missing from the article. The leads in articles about previous elections are mostly summaries of the results, logically as those are the most important facts about the topic. This content will write itself later. I agree we are missing info about the campaign itself, but the other cleanup issues are minor, and in the case of the "duplicated" information, I'm not even sure it's a problematic issue at all.
