Many changes[edit]

I haven't seen the news in non french speaking sources, but there's many changes scheduled :

  • The number of seats is now 109
  • In each of the 24 constituencies, a seat is now reserved for a female candidate on the lists
  • The mandate has changed from four to five years, but the assembly elected in 2023 will have a three years one, so as to coincide all election
  • Next parliamentary election will thus be in January 2026, earlier by two years
  • Next municipal election will also be held in January 2026, postponed by one year
  • Next presidential election are still scheduled for April 2026, so it won't be a fully combined election.
  • Parliamentaries now have a three mandates restriction, including the three years one, but older ones don't count
