Future Inclusion & Changes[edit]

For those wishing to update the article by adding new by-day information, good citations can be found on CNN, on pages titled '[date] Russia-Ukraine news'. For information before the war in Ukraine broke out, information in the corresponding Ukrainian translation from the article can be translated and brought over. Russian Generals Killed in Ukraine[edit]

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there have been quite varying claims regarding which and how many Russian generals have been killed in the war. Some sources range from nine to fifteen, some generals are listed in one source that are not listed in another, and so on. Only the first five generals on the list seem to be consistent throughout all accounts. If you can find a reliable source that can document this information, it would be greatly appreciated. The chances are though that we will only know the correct information after the war concludes. --Johnson524 (talk) 14:54, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Zelenskyy[edit]

The decision was made early in the war to standardize the transliteration of his name on Wikipedia to the above spelling, which is the one he uses himself when writing in Roman letters. Elinruby (talk) 04:39, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merger discussion[edit]

I propose that the page Timeline of the prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine be merged into this and the 2021 in Ukraine articles. The bulk of the 2021 and 2022 in Ukraine articles already serve the same purpose as the timeline article in covering the prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, also in list form. Along with the now GA Prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine article, I feel it would be beneficial to centralize any remaining relevant events mentioned in the timeline article here to prevent further redundancy. Oppose. This article does have some importance, similar to the Timeline of events preceding World War II. The article does need to be expanded though to include actions in 2014 and before, similar to the WWII timeline. HoHo3143 (talk) 01:01, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If the article were to be expanded to actions in 2014 like you said, I could see its use and be fine in keeping it, but in the state it's in right now, it feels kind of redundant. Cheers! Johnson524 12:23, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I don't have the time to be able to expand the article, however, I hope someone else will be able to in the future. It'll happen one day... HoHo3143 (talk) 05:36, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merge per @HoHo3143. Thanks, --Ooligan (talk) 15:46, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
