Aircraft involved[edit]

Rumour is that the aircraft is a USAF RF-11. Taliban claiming a shootdown. Mjroots (talk) 13:06, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cause[edit]

This from the comments section of the Aviation Herald webpage:- We were in same frequency when they declared Mayday to Kabul control. They declared mayday due to both engines faillure, and descended fl320 initially, and told proceeding Kandahar Airport. Their callsign was something like Lot01. Atc asked them pob and distance they can glide , couldnt get answer.

Obviously it is not something that can be used, but RS's should be reporting this in due course. Taliban claims should be left in, then disproved. Mjroots (talk) 19:55, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
