Results[edit]

Thanks a lot @Number 57: for adding in the full results of the election!--Aréat (talk) 13:05, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I have been considering creating a shared folder in my Google Drive to upload Excel sheets of calculations for elections like this (where we have to calculate it ourselves) so editors can double check or confirm the sums are right. Does that sound like a good idea? Number 57 13:07, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if that's not too much work for you, why not, yes. I think it would be only used for the few times there's contradicting numbers from the tables on Wiki and from others sources, though. Cordially.--Aréat (talk) 15:09, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism, fake news[edit]

In the section 'aftermath' Fake news are written to make people doubt about the democratic nature of the election.

1) An article from the Conversation about the reasons of the sucess of Pravind Jugnauth is used to justify statements that are note written in this ! 2) The others sources are ALL from one newspapers ! 3) There is a newspapers that bought services from Verde to follow voting intention and actually, results are pretty close... Number of votes[edit]

It's incredible that there were 2,136,413 votes when the population of Mauritius is 1,200,000. How can this be?

Is this because of the block vote system, meaning that individual electors cast multiple votes? If so could this be made clear? Or is there something else going on here? 86.159.73.44 (talk) 10:21, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It explains this in the electoral system section: The National Assembly has 62 elected members elected in 20 three-seat constituencies and one two-seat constituency (the island of Rodrigues). The elections are held using the block vote system, whereby voters have as many votes as there are seats available. Cheers, Number 57 11:32, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
