I will review the article for three or four days, just to make sure that it is worthy for a GA promotion. Thanks! FairyTailRocks (talk) 02:48, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

References
  • A quick check of all references, seems like ref no.168, 130, 91 and 55 are dead. Can you fix them out?
Coaching staff
  • Is it just me or the reference used in the coaching staff does not support some members of the staff. I only saw James Franklin (new head coach), Mac McWhorter and John Strollo, the others did not mention.
  • It did, but the old coach left, and that page is constantly updated, so that is the new coaching staff you see. I replaced it with a PDF media guide, that should work
Recruits
  • You may wanna put ref no.10 a "subscription required" note, and was it a B- or B rating? Because if you are joining two words you will put a hyphen in the middle.
  • Actually it's number 9, but done.
Game notes
August 31 vs. Syracuse
  • Remove the letter "m" from the url of ref no.17, the page is loading fast without it.
  • "after Hackenberg played the first two drives for Penn State, Ferguson came in and promptly fumbled the football for a turnover and did not return" where's the source?
  • "Allen Robinson, the Big Ten's leading receiver in 2012, did not start ... but he did play in the second half." I did not see in the ref that he played in the second half.
  • Both can be noted from the play by play of the game (presently ref #21, but likely to change)
September 7 vs. Eastern Michigan
  • "At the end of the first half, Penn State got into field goal range with under a minute to go, and Sam Ficken made scored a 39-yard field goal which made his Penn State record for the 14th straight make successful FG.
  • You don't "score a field goal", but objection noted, and change made.
  • "After a quick punt by Ohio..." please put the full name, it is maybe confusing to other readers that they thought Penn St. are facing Ohio but it is not.
  • Not sure where that came from, shortened entirely. Good catch :-)
September 14 vs. Central Florida (UCF)
  • "Penn State got 51 yards on their next drive before Zwinak lost a fumble with 5:43 to go." What quarter?
  • Changed to "in the game"
September 21 vs. Kent State
  • "In 2012, Archer rushed for 1,429 yards and scored 16 touchdowns .... he even received some Heisman hype." did he won or nominated?
  • Added a note in parentheses
  • After Penn State went three-and-out to start the game, Kent State got an excellent field position at the Penn State opposition's 36-yard line after Penn State the Lions committed a kick catching interference on the punt, but they failed to capitalize as their kicker, Anthony Melchiori, missed a 31-yard field goal." Name calling for other teams are useful so that we can avoid redundancy.
  • Actually, in American football, "got excellent field position" is appropriate, and frequently utilized both verbally and in writing. Second part, tweaked. Go Phightins! 12:13, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
October 12 vs. Michigan
  • "Michigan, coming off a 42–13 defeat of victory against Minnesota, entered the game with a win-loss record of 5–0."
Post-season
  • "Later, it was announced that though he originally intended to transfer to Western Kentucky (WKU) because Bobby Petrino (formerly WKU's coach) was WKU's coach at that time. Eventually, those plans changed when Petrino accepted the head coaching position at Louisville, which means Ferguson would transfer there."
All-star games
  • Need ref for the "players" section of 2014 East-West Shrine Game.

Final problem: About those broken refs? Are you gonna fix or remove them?

Swapped all four. Go Phightins! 14:45, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Great job! Now the article successfully passed the GA criteria. FairyTailRocks (talk) 14:41, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - I will take another look at yours this afternoon, if I have time ... I am sort of intermittently online right now, and need a focused period to do a GA review. Go Phightins! 14:51, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
