[edit]

This article had a GA Review and was promoted to WP:GA quality, more at : Talk:2012 tour of She Has a Name/GA1. — Cirt (talk) 18:13, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos[edit]

This is a very specific topic, kudos on pulling off the article so well. -- Zanimum (talk) 23:51, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

I believe that three categories should be readded to this article: Category:Abolitionism in North America, Category:Entertainment events in Canada, and Category:Human trafficking. The first category demonstrates that the purpose of this tour was to raise awareness about contemporary slavery in North America. The second demonstrates that the tour was in Canada and was also for the purpose of entertainment. The third demonstrates that it was not only the play itself but also the panel discussions that were about human trafficking. Neelix (talk) 19:24, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

So obviously I am relatively new to Wikipedia, and I may be missing something, but I am unsure of why there needs to be such an extensive article for a tour of a small regional play. It seems like it would be logical to merge this page into the page for the play itself and reduce it's length by a substantial degree. From scanning Wiki pages on productions with much more substantial cultural impact, this kind of separate article is not par the course for Wikipedia and for good reason as that would quickly descend into lists of obscure and pointless trivia, as this article seems to have done. I understand it has a GA rating but this is slightly confounding to me as well. The only argument I have seen in its favor is that it is meticulously sourced (it is) but that by itself doesn't justify length. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdh9 (talkcontribs) 03:45, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

A merge of this article's content to She Has a Name is proposed. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:47, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per all of the discussions and nearly unanimous conclusions in Wikipedia:Featured article review/2012 tour of She Has a Name/archive1, and heeding all the caveats therein about the vast amount of overblown trivia in this tour article, most of which merely needs to be deleted rather than merged. Softlavender (talk) 03:39, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per Softlavender, and the consensus formed at FAR and AfD.—indopug (talk) 14:26, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support very selective merge (redirect would be fine), this is a spam article on a subject that has not received the necessary coverage in reliable sources for this volume of coverage on WP. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 14:48, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sandy, I believe there is a consensus to merge?—indopug (talk) 17:39, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If we add in all the support from the FAR, it's convincing, and no one has come along to oppose, so anyone can do the honors. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:05, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
