ONEEVENT is a subset of Wikipedia:Notability (people), which doesn't apply since this article isn't about a person. Which of the four criteria of the latter standard do you believe this topic does not meet? It has been the subject of more than enough coverage in reliable sources to meet notability standards. I added some new information on the type of avalanche and several of its characteristics. I also deleted one sentence that was not relevant to the information on the avalanche and changed the number of skiers in the group from sixteen to fifteen because that was the finding of the preliminary report.
