Notability[edit]

The notability guideline for events indicates that an event is "presumed to be notable if it receives significant, non-routine coverage that persists over a period of time" and appears in "multiple reliable sources with national or global scope". The coverage received by this blackout has been significant and non-routine, appearing in multiple reliable sources with global scope, but only time will tell whether the coverage will persist. The fact that we don't know if coverage will persist is exactly why we have a different set of guidelines for recent events, which this clearly does not meet. I'd suggest a nomination for AfD. Jim Sukwutput 22:34, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
