Replacements?[edit]

Does anybody know what happens if one of the qualified players (e.g. Lee Westwood) pulls out due to injury etc.? Does the captain get another pick, or does their place go to the next person on the points list? The official rules don't seem to say. 81.142.107.230 (talk) 08:52, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rhys Davies is honoured to be the official 13th man, according to [1] Pvt pauline (talk) 05:58, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Team Europe[edit]

Suggest that this is changed to just Europe. We know it's a team as we're not American and don't need the prefix. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.221.240.77 (talkcontribs) 22:22, 29 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]

As much as I agree with you on the annoying practice of using "Team" before team names, "Team Europe" is the name used on the official Ryder Cup website. 217.42.243.188 (talk) 12:03, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • You can avoid it by using Europe Europe and not Team Europe. Pvt pauline (talk) 06:06, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Welcome to Wales really isn't a significant event outside of the 2010 Ryder Cup. It's not like this was an Olympic opening ceremony and I fear this is a massive bout of WP:RECENTISM to create as a seperate article. All this could easily be merged into a "Build-up" or "Preperations" section.

  • Merge per nom. Schumi555 14:29, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Most people reading this page would not be interested in this section as its relation is a little tenuous. The article itself isn't a bad stub either. Keep seperate. Mtaylor848 (talk) 16:56, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge for reasons stated above. RonSigPi (talk) 05:21, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. Untitledmind72 (let's talk + contribs) 10:21, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This is a significant music concert at the Millennium Stadium by itself. SethWhales talk 22:09, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The concert was indeed a significant event in its own right, and per User:Mtaylor848 it is a reasonable sized stub and of little interest to golf enthusiasts. The article could also easily be expanded with more detail. Welshleprechaun 23:32, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge. Concert in itself likely fails notability criteria. Were it not for the Ryder Cup, there would have been minimal coverage of such a concert, not to mention that there would not have been a concert in the first place. wjematherbigissue 23:43, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Over a week has passed since the last edit on this topic. Looks like it is time to call this one. Merge has won 5-3.RonSigPi (talk) 17:11, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Individual points scores[edit]

Anyone think it would be useful to have a list of the total points scored by each player? If so would it be best in another column of the Team tables or a completely separate table? Debnigo (talk) 22:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. wjematherbigissue 23:04, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
