Seve Ballesteros[edit]

Seve has announced that he plans to play at St. Andrews so the field section of the article, which states that he is not expected to play, could do with changing. I would do it myself but I don't know which categories he qualifies under. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is that he is playing in a special past Champions event prior to the tournament, not the tournament itself —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dstevens60 (talkcontribs) 21:35, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Price[edit]

I'm not sure why he is not listed as eligible but not expected to play. He won in 1994 and is less than 60. I added him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dstevens60 (talkcontribs) 21:37, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He didn't enter and the entry deadline has passed. Tewapack (talk) 04:06, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had way too many "nots" in my first sentence. I knew he wasn't playing. My concern is that he wasn't listed as "eligible but not expected to play". I added him to that list and someone smarter than me activated the link, so all is right in the world now. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dstevens60 (talkcontribs) 13:47, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

150 years[edit]

R&A are advertising this is "celebrating 150 years" although this is only the 139th Open. Assume this is because some were missed due to wars and also one way way back because they didn't have a trophy. Could somebody check this out then delete this comment. ==Also called the "British Open".

It's a bit presumptuous and Eurocentric to call this "The Open Championship" without so much as a nod to the term used in the U.S. (the British Open).Ryoung122 02:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
