I discovered Alibris and other book sellers are listing print-on-demand books containing, among other articles, the contents of articles in the Wikipedia Category:2008 awards, including the first three paragraphs of the text from 2008 New Year Honours, all without attribution and without license. Search google for "Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards" and several books created by Books LLC will be listed, here are just the 2008 books:

Collections for other years also exist, and 2001 Awards at http://base.google.com/base/a/1165992/D7468491606706189854 has a "Report bad item" link one can click and enter details.

This page and the ones like it seem a little out of place. Why are *recent* awards given Wikipedia pages while older ones aren't? My grandfather was awarded CBE in the 70s, but there's no list of those. Seems like either Wikipedia should include the entire history (if it even exists) of honors recipients, or none at all, but to be so highly skewed toward recent awards seems somehow inappropriate. fpotter (talk) 04:11, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
