Notes on the 19th[edit]

The complete War diaries are available on the Library and Archives Canada database.

  • There is no official record of the 19th that I could find. Only the Nicholson book mentions them by name, but that isn't good enough. It is going to take a lot of digging through official records to find out what the official history is.
  • I am going to look through them to add any primary source material regarding the battalion. Any battles regarding the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada are not necessarily those of the 19th as a whole, and that is an important distinction. The article is about the CEF battalion, and any actions after its disbanding or perpetuation should be included in a separate article.
  • As many of the CEF articles are neglected, I thought that great care should be taken to get everything right the first time. Any things I leave out are merely to only note what I know of now to be fact, and are not intentionally done. Thanks :) Monsieurdl mon talk-mon contribs 16:49, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Primary and Secondary Sources available[edit]

War Diaries are now available on the Library and Archives Canada database. Papers from November 6, 1914 to September 30, 1918 are available on the website. Some information is also available in the book OVER THE TOP! The Canadian infantry in the First World War by John F. Meek. the book is available at http://regimentalrogue.com/misc/researching_first_world_war_soldiers_part10.htm
