Reviewer: Yellow Evan (talk · contribs) 04:47, 12 April 2014 (UTC) Ill get to this tomorrow. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:47, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "The storm formed off the west coast of India in the Arabian Sea," I'd link Arabian Sea. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • " and curved westward to reach peak winds of 70 mph (110 km/h)." two qualms. YE Pacific Hurricane
    • I find it ironic that last night when you wanted Ingird to stay in km/h, you out an article to be in mph when it's suppsoe to be in km/h. Please fix. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • According to the infobox, it's peak was 50 knts/60 mph. Which is right? Which is wrong? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • The 70 mph was JTWC. The 50 kt for IMD, but that's unknown, as IMD only listed it as a severe cyclonic storm, which has winds of 50 kt. They didn't list the peak winds. That's why I didn't list the peak IMD winds in the MH. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • " Producing wind gusts to 230 km/h (140 mph)," is that really important for the lead? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yea, considering that's one of the few things known about the wind speeds from the storm. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Arabian Sea hurricane-force tropical cyclone on June 12, 1977" not a fan of that caption (kinda weird). YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • You should note how IMD using 3 min and JTWC uses 1 min. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I added 1-min for the JTWC peak. Given that I don't actually mention the IMD winds (per above), I didn't feel the need to clarify w/ a note. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The Oman Department of Meteorology " do you have something against wikilinks? :P YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The cyclone was the strongest on record to make landfall on the Arabian Peninsula, until Cyclone Gonu surpassed it in 2007" is it still the 2nd strongest overall? You say that in the lead. Also, the second part of the sentence is awkward. I'd say something like. "At that time, the cyclone was the strongest on record to make landfall on the Arabian Peninsula, but was surpassed by Cyclone Gonu 2007." 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm pretty sure Phet might have surpassed it, but I can't get a source to outright say it. I changed the wording of the lede, since I'm not sure if it's still 2nd strongest. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • According to the IMD, when was its peak? you go with 50 knts in the infobox, and 60 in the lead. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • See above regarding IMD and peak winds. All I know was that it was a severe cyclonic storm. The 70 in the lede is per JTWC. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "High swell up to 7 metres (23 ft) impacted the MV Strathmeigle and several drilling rigs shut down" abbreviate meters please to be consistent with the rest of the article. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "before sinking near 20N 63W," Okay, okay, since when do we put the "20N 63W" crap in WPTC articles? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, it's kinda in the middle of the Arabian Sea, so I just went ahead and said that. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The military base in Masirah raised a Category 3 warning on the morning of June 12," wtf is "a Category 3 warning"
  • Some sort of preparations, probably similar to condition of readiness by the US military. But, as the source doesn't explain it, I'm not sure. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "which was soon upgraded to Category 2" even more confused, but wouldn't a Cat 3 warning be high than a Cat 2. Or am I forgetting how to count? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Skies clouded over in the afternoon, and rain squalls moved across the island that evening." is this important? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Winds then increased out of the southwest towards 185 km/h (115 mph), " need to mention this? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Rain totals were significant, with a total of 482.3 millimetres (18.99 in) falling 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Salalah.[6] A station on Masirah Island reported reported 430.6 millimetres (16.95 in) in 24 hours, more than six times the average annual precipitation there." again with the not abbreviating units. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:38, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
