Name[edit]

Similarly for Talk:1945 Tripolitania pogrom#Name, most sources here use "riots" as the primary descriptor for the event:

I will amend the title to 1948 Anti-Jewish Riots in Tripolitania unless any objections. Oncenawhile (talk) 18:56, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Name change[edit]

If there's no opposition, I would like to rename this article to "1948 Tripolitania riots" since the title of "Anti-Jewish riots" makes the events sound very one-sided. In addition to the violence against Jews, several Arabs were injured or lost their lives. Race riots and ethnic riots like this typically just name the location and date and the motives are listed in the actual article itself. For example, see 1930 Rangoon riots, 1946 Bihar riots, 2005 French riots, 2012 Rakhine State riots. Kamalthebest (talk) 23:06, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's been over a week so I'm going to change it. Kamalthebest (talk) 06:33, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well it was one sided specifically against the Jews.GreyShark (dibra) 06:34, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Greyshark09: No, it was not. Over 50 Arabs were injured and 4 died. Riots are not one-sided. See the similar articles that I linked. Kamalthebest (talk) 06:39, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

If someone has the time, could we please add more independent sources for this? The opening paragraph lists "Jewish Refugees from Arab Countries" from the Jewish Virtual Library, which explicitly lists its goal as "enhanc[ing] Israel's image by publicizing novel Israeli approaches to problems (...) and illustrating how Americans can learn from these innovations." Also, half the other links to this article are dead. Kamalthebest (talk) 23:06, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
