Talk:1906 San Marino Constitutional Assembly election

Here and here two reliable sources confirming that the first election in San Marino took place in June 1906. Unfortunately, the are in Italian (it is very difficult to find no-native language sources for such a little State), but they can be easily translate using google Translate. If nobody has opposite sources (and, obviously, such a strong source as my second one, by San Marino government), I'll delete this page within seven days.--Barlafus (talk) 01:33, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, the article is referenced to a reliable academic source, which notes in two separate places that this election did take place, as well as giving the voting figures. I cannot find a claim in this source that the first election took place in June 1906, only that the first legislature was elected in June 1906, which is consistent with this article (as it is not about a legislature being elected). It is possible that the other source refers to the June 1906 election as being the first one because it was the first one for the Grand and General Council as opposed to a Constituent/Constitutional Assembly.
Secondly, as you have already been told, you do not get to decide on whether the page is deleted.
I may try and contact the author of the San Marino chapter in the Nohlen book to clarify. Number 57 10:07, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We are still waiting for news about this alleged Constitutional Assembly in Sammarinese history. Have you got source speaking about this Assembly, or not?? --Barlafus (talk) 20:46, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In case you hadn't noticed, the article is already referenced to a source. Number 57 21:03, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia rules about sources say that dubious articles need more than a single, isolated source, especially if there are opposite, official sources denying it (the Sammarinese government and the one of the major local parties speak about the election of June as the first election in the country, as I already said you). And, even if your supposed source would speak about a generic election, the fact that this election would be for a mythic Constitional Assembly is simply an unreferenced invention generated by your fantasy, and effectively a vandalism against wikipedia accuracy and credibility.--Barlafus (talk) 00:24, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The official sources do not deny it, they just don't mention it. As I noted above, one of your sources does not say it was the first election (there is no mention of this), and the other one specifically says it was the first "parliamentary election", which is still true as this wasn't for a parliament. I am still trying to contact the author of the chapter in the book for clarification. Number 57 12:17, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have added some more details from the book. It looks like this election was only carried out by Arengo members, not the general public. I have also specified that it was not a Constitutional Assembly, as a footnote in the book remarks. Number 57 21:55, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
