December 1554 lunar eclipse[edit]

The date of the December Solstice lunar eclipse seems difficult to determine. Assuming the accuracy of the information on List of 16th century lunar eclipses, the eclipse was only partial and occurred on 9 December. In addition: The Julian calendar was ten days "behind" in the 16th century. So, if the winter solstice nowadays occurs around December 21 means it must have occurred around December 11 in 1554.
