Safety issues[edit]

The tower elimination looks extremely dangerous. There appears to be some sort of retarder cable attached to the contestants, however - I can't see them free-falling into the water because from 100 ft. such an impact can break your neck or cause a concussion. Perhaps this should be mentioned somewhere? 68.146.71.145 (talk) 05:21, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the elimination methods are meant to look dangerous or fatal, even though safety harnesses and the like are obvious. The show rarely cuts to or reveals a contestant that's been eliminated after they're gone, but when a contestant is dropped, there's not like, a pile of dead contestants at the bottom, either. The bungee cord means the contestants don't hit the water with nearly the force they would with a free fall, and also ensures the contestants don't get flung into the equipment. In essence, it's 'movie magic'. I'm sure if an injury to a contestant hospitalized or was fatal to them, then the show wouldn't likely have aired 5 more episodes, and if that changes, then the article certainly should be updated to reflect it (and the show's likely cancellation), but until then, it's best not to put speculation in. 24.140.55.164 (talk) 19:22, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Variants of Eliminations not mentioned on the show...[edit]

There were a few variants of "The Drop of Terror" that appeared on episodes that was not mentioned in the article:

  • Blast Chance - Contestants getting the wrong answer has a similar effect to "The Drop of Terror", except an air cannon also shoots a plume of air behind the contestant prior to "The Drop of Terror."
  • Flop till You Drop - While the four contestants lie on a slab, three of the contestants that gets the wrong answer have their position leaned forward, dropping head first into the water.
  • Last Man Leaning - While the four contestants laying down on a slab face down, three of the contestants that gets the wrong answer has a similar effect to "Flop till You Drop."
  • Now You Seat Me, Now You Don't - Each of the four contestants sit on a chair that is 10 feet above the ten-story tower. The three contestants that selects the wrong answer has a similar effect to "Flop till You Drop", except that the contestant drops 110 feet into the water.

I was wondering if those can be added into the article. CHAK 001 (Improvements? Please let me know!) 08:23, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

UK Version[edit]

This article has no mention of being based on the original UK format and seems to be written as if this version is the original version. Alexsutton (talk) 01:21, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to the UK page, the format was jointly created by the US and UK. [1] TruthGal (talk) 14:22, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
