Content matter?[edit]

Can someone explain to me what content matter that episode contained to ban it from airing after the 9/11 attacks?

From another episode guide (http://bellsouthpwp.net/l/a/lara6281/101DGuide.html): Alive 'n' Chicken: Spot mistakenly believes she has only until nightfall to live. Knowing better, Lucky, Cadpig, and Rolly take this as an opportunity to get her to live life to the fullest. Prima Doggy: Lucky wins a starring role in Cecil B. DeVil's latest Kanine Krunchies commercial.

Did I miss something?

Yeah, um, I don't know why they would remove that, as on a SpongeBob SquarePants episode, Squidward believes that SpongeBob had eaten a bomb pie and believes he only has till sundown to live. So he makes SpongeBob's last day count. Similarity? I believe so. Drakehellman 22:01, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article assessment[edit]

I have rated this article as start class because the relatively short length and lack of sections other than plot and characters and as low importance because there is little to distinguish it from other articles about television series. --Opark 77 15:24, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Animation studios removed[edit]

I have removed, in this edit, the inclusion of the name of the animation studio associated with some of the series' episodes. The information seems to be nonstandard, in that I cannot recall ever seeing such information included on other television shows' articles on a per-episode basis before. The information also lacks cited verification, as does pretty much the whole article. Lastly, naming the animation studio of just a handful of episodes and not every episode does not show consistency or uniformity.

In the future, I intend to also do a little cleanup to improve the article. I added a titlecard yesterday, so already I feel I've accomplished something. --Sgt. R.K. Blue (talk) 09:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proper name of show[edit]

As you can see by the title card the name appears to be 101 Dalmatians. 101 Dalmatians: The Series would, in fact, be an alternate title like other Disney shows such as Aladdin: The Series. --Anythingspossibleforapossible (talk) 14:47, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Source for airdates[edit]

I've been looking for sourcing for airdates for this one, and this is what I've been able to come up with:

TV Guide: [3] – does not distinguish a "season 1" or "season 2", and at least a couple of listed dates are questionable, but looks decent. Note: Currently some of the airdates used at this article do not match the dates listed by TV Guide.
Amazon Prime Video: "Season 101", "Season 102", "Season 103", "Season 104" – same thing: some of the airdates used at this article do not match the dates listed by Amazon Prime.

101 Dalmatians: The Series → 101 Dalmatians (TV series) – A discussion needs to be held about what is the proper title for the article for the 1997–1998 animated TV series, 101 Dalmatians . While IMDb does put this series under the title 101 Dalamatians: The Series (and even includes poster art with that title), TV Guide and Amazon Prime both title the series simply 101 Dalmatians, as does iTunes. The article itself also seems to show an image of the TV series' title card, which is also just "101 Dalmatians". So while 101 Dalmatians: The Series does have the advantage of WP:NATURALDIS, 101 Dalmatians would seem to be the WP:COMMONNAME. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:56, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FTR, I was hoping to see how The Encyclopedia of Animated Cartoons by Jeff Lenburg referred to the series, but I couldn't find access to that one (in time...). But I still stand by the RM: I suspect older sourcing uses the fuller title, while more recent sourcing goes by the simpler 101 Dalmatians title – this looks like it might be a case where the series' WP:COMMONNAME has evolved over time. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 14:33, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I expect the original name included the disambiguating subtitle to distinguish it from the film of the same name and that need has declined over time so a short version dropping the subtitle came into common use when context was clear what was meant. I'm leaning to not changing it now per WP:NATURALDIS and ":The Series" and "(TV series)" basically mean the same thing and serve the same purpose. When things are close to in balance NATURALDIS and an old COMMONNAME not needing a parenthetical disambiguator should override the most current COMMONNAME that does need to add a parenthetical disambiguator. Disney+ Release[edit]

As the series gets released on June 19th on Disney+, make sure that the plot summaries should now be in your own words, but have about 100 to 200 words in length, per WP:TVPLOT. The current summaries we have are possibly WP:COPYVIO.

If the episode list is not in the correct order on Disney+, if it goes by airing order like what iTunes listed it, keep in mind that the episode list format might also change too, as WP:CRISTAL applies.
