Take Ecstacy with Me/Get Up doesn't need to be listed as a single and an EP, so I'm removing it from the EP section. It's definitly a single. NeilDespres 05:07, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Take Ecstacy with Me/Get Up changed back to an EP. Listed as such on the official site. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.141.64.28 (talkcontribs) 17:53, 24 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Google search =[edit]

The band's name is the "hardest band name to Google" according to Spin Magazine.

For the record, searching for "chk chk chk" works well. -- Stephen Gilbert 23:53, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. It's just !!! that returns no results. Secretlondon 14:16, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's from the 2004 List issue of Spin magazine, ahead of The The and A Doc Strange 21:22, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone have an explanation of why? 99.229.248.138 (talk) 22:10, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the writers at Spin magazine were making yet another unsuccessful attempt at creating what scientists call "humor." I don't have the issue on hand, but I do remember picking it up because it featured !!!. It was a list remark that you read on the band before realizing it was awful and threw the magazine in the trash. Either way, it's not valid. (Joseph (talk) 14:53, 24 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]
As a fan of the band in 2002 after their debut, I can assure you it was intensely difficult to google them at the time. The "chk chk chk" thing had not been publicly well-established (it was not yet printed on album stickers, for instance) so the best bet you had--Googling, searching Amazon, etc--was to type in song names. It was not fun. I always forgot (still do, on occasion) and try to search for "!!!" which gives a lot of search engines fits. So, in any case, I'm betting that's why it was in there. It used to be true. FangsFirst (talk) 23:34, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why was this removed? The only reason I was able to hear of this band was through searching ungooglable results. It seems that this should be a part of the article as it was before. Can anyone provide an explanation?72.11.214.253 (talk) 19:43, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace?[edit]

Is the MySpace page that is linked actually maintained by the group, or is it a fansite? If it is a fansite, it should not be linked to. Spartacusprime 21:07, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's maintained by the group. They update it more than their web site. Secretlondon 11:15, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Myth Takes[edit]

The album title has been announced on their my space site. Checked 17th Nov 06. Secretlondon 02:23, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

The band say it is pronounced as any three consective syllables. It is often transliterated as chk chk chk. There are loads of interviews in which they are asked this very question.. Secretlondon 19:35, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So "Syllable" would be a correct pronounciation of the band name according to them? --Lijnema 10:00, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No - it's three of the same syllable. pow pow pow, bang bang bang etc. Secretlondon 17:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, cool. I usually say "bang bang bang", actually, because "bang" is another word for exclamation mark. --Spug 03:08, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So which click sound does "chk chk chk" refer to? The IPA, too, indeed uses the exclamation mark for one of them, tho not the dental click (aka: "tut-tut") which would would be my first gess here. But if the name comes via Ju|'hoan orthography, it might also indeed be the same meaning as in IPA: the alveolar click. Can someone compare with the sound files on those pages? --Tropylium 09:09, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you'll find the correct pronunciation is "bish bash bosh". --86.140.228.19 (talk) 17:54, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't work like that. They aren't phoneticians. The pronunciation of their name and the IPA symbol are not really connected. Secretlondon 22:15, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
...Bit of a stretch, yes. But I would still assume a certain type of a click is meant by the "chk chk chk", not any random clickish sound, right? That's my main question here. --Tropylium (talk) 13:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would venture that a reasonable pronunciation of "chk chk chk" is "chick chick chick", unvoiced and lacking the central vowel. But that's just me. Sabin4232 (talk) 00:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would have to agree with you.--Sem;colon (talk) 00:26, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the article should give the one pronunciation of 'chk chk chk' in the first sentence, if the band intends it to be pronounced variably. Microphonicstalk 20:11, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection from "pew pew pew"[edit]

What is the reason for "!!!" article being redirected from "pew pew pew?" Dchem (talk) 18:25, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You'd have to ask the editor who created, or diverted, it, but I surmise that it's based on the "three repeated monosyllables" notion. --Lexein (talk) 16:29, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
