Premature triggering of cut-off point 5[edit]

An anonymous editor in the 182.232.XXX.XXX range keeps triggering the 5th cut-off. Will editors please refrain from triggering the 5th cut-off point until the season reaches that stage. All the points need to be entered for the 4th stage of the season before the 5th cut-off point is triggered. Early triggering will mean the players are sorted in the wrong order due to points dropping off and it also complicates the creation of a permalink for the 4th cut-off. The source for the 4th cut-off won't be published until after the tournament finishes either so the player standings at the 4th cut-off point also need to be checked before the the 5th cut-off point is triggered. Whoever is doing this is not helping; in fact it is incredibly disruptive. Please stop it. Betty Logan (talk) 15:03, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ranking list[edit]

The ranking list on the WST web site differs from the list available on the WST app and on the WPBSA web site. The differences are for players with the same amount of money (rank 50/51, 78/77, 91/90, ...). I suppose the WST web site is wrong and if so this wiki page is also wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZeSnoRo (talkcontribs) 15:31, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The rankings at this article are taken directly from the list issued by WST at at https://wst.tv/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/World-Rankings-after-2021-Cazoo-Tour-Championship.pdf. If you mean they are different to those listed at https://wpbsa.com/rankings/latest-provisional-seedings/ then yes I am aware of this anomaly. However the WST list are the finalised rankings and the list at WPBSA is "provisional". Betty Logan (talk) 02:23, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I refer to https://wpbsa.com/rankings/world-rankings/ which doesn't seem provisional. That is very confusing.
Andrew Pagett didn't play on the tour last season—he deferred his place until this season—so the WPBSA list is at least wrong about that. I don't understand it either. There may be some technical distinction because the WST and WPBSA are different entities. However, I've always used the issued ranking lists mainly because you can cite them and unlike a dynamic list they don't change down after the next event.
