Self-promotion?
[edit]This guy is not *that* important to warrant an article of this length and depth. This reeks of self-promotion.
Daveman 84 14:28, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Notable, reliable sources reference his work. I would, however, say that more third-party sources should be added to support the assertion of Barnett's notability. I would also so that this article is not particularly "deep" in its examination of the subject. I am not sure what you think would be appropriate. If you think this article should be deleted as non-notable, feel free to nom it for deletion at WP:AfD. I doubt the community would agree, though. And, for the record, I emailed Barnett for permission to use the image we have of him, and he did not know about this article prior to that contact. DickClarkMises 17:07, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
I found the article quite helpful personally, and I don't think Barnett wrote it so how could it be "self-promotion"?--Gloriamarie (talk) 11:38, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
+1 to Daveman. Warrants a 2 paragraph article at most. 208.49.100.5 (talk) 22:53, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
+1 also. This article is ridiculously long for someone one at the fringe of legal thought and lacking stature in the legal community. My suggestion would be to remove the whole federalism bill section and to replace it with a brief one line summary. 76.126.36.20 (talk) 19:01, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
+1
also VERY one sided....there is ONLY a discussion of libertarian vs federalist/conservative....inside baseball stuff
Paranoid Android1208 (talk) 09:48, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
+1 I don't know what's going on here but this article reeks of self-promotion. I've noticed too that other articles on constitutional clauses now have paragraphs talking about Barnett's view. Barnett does not have the scholarly stature to receive this level of discussion. Someone hopefully can do a thorough review of the various Barnett discussions on wikipedia. 38.99.39.129 (talk) 06:52, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
Bill of Federalism should be split into its own article
[edit]Way too much info for a bio — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.226.67.84 (talk) 23:55, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed-- He is just another predictable Federalist mouthpiece, like John Yu. It's funny how the libertarians all seem to work for the monied class (they pilfered the treasury under Bush and now they don't want their ill-gotten gain to be taxed, etc.). Ubikwit 連絡 見学/迷惑 11:57, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Bibliography?
[edit]The bibliography page does not include some of Barnett's more recent works. It also doesn't include any of Barnett's articles on contract theory, which might be useful given that contract theory features as one of the article's headings. Would it be useful to include some of these in the bibliograpy? APG2000 (talk) 02:47, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
repeal ratio
[edit]Section "Repeal Amendment" describes a proposal that 2/3 of the States have power to undo Federal acts. Under the "Bill of Federalism", the required fraction is 3/4. Did Barnett change his mind? —Tamfang (talk) 04:05, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
