The Great Stone Face
[edit]...that is, the bust of Krahe favored on the other articles. There are several issues:
- It was done 47 years after Krahe's death. Is it from a portrait or engraving?...if so,
- By who?
- Where is it?...Braunschweig of course, but is it a monument? On a public building? and...
- Why is the background red?
In short, it needs historical and visual context and, well...it's too dramatically intrusive (almost threatening). It's taken the way you'd photograph a gargoyle and looks like an evil character from the Tales of Hoffmann. The photographer is obviously an amateur and I don't think that's what they intended. Habich, the sculptor, apparently has no reputation outside Braunschweig. So, please consider the above before putting it here. If somebody in Braunschweig could take another picture and supply the needed information, that would be great!WQUlrich (talk) 00:29, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
