Brian Limond, not David Limond

[edit]

This article is about Brian Limond, not about any family members he might have. If they are notable enough then please consider creating a separate article for them. juux22:42, 20 September 2008 (UTC) p.s. affect != effect[reply]

Limmy or Limond

[edit]

Is it the right thing to refer to him throughout the article as "Limmy"? Isn't that a character? Or a nickname? WP:MOS makes me wonder if Limond would be more correct. Exok (talk) 00:17, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps a stage name, but certainly not a character. His appearances on Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast have been billed as "Limmy" (Herring interviews people, not characters). Perhaps some consistency in the article would be better though (i.e. Limond or Limmy). LoveEverybodyUnconditionally (talk) 12:13, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Bullying"?

[edit]

"he encourages others to engage in the same behaviour, admitted that as a result of being bullied on the Internet himself he now engages in bullying others."

Is it really fair to describe Limmy's online trolling as "bullying"? He certainly doesn't use that term in the linked "confession" article, so its use here comes across as somewhat misleading/ accusatory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.222.212 (talk) 21:39, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter link??

[edit]

Article says he uses Twitter a lot, but external links doesn't include his Twitter account. Somebody please discover it and add link? 198.144.192.45 (talk) 21:16, 30 July 2013 (UTC) Twitter.Com/CalRobert (Robert Maas)[reply]

I believe Twitter links are to be avoided: See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links LoveEverybodyUnconditionally (talk) 12:16, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Note in the page you linked the phrase "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject" - I believe linking to his social media accounts (Twitter included) would come under this and is therefore acceptable. 217.42.98.160 (talk) 19:01, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Book

[edit]

The book section is outdated. The book has been released, and has ISBN 1780893752. He performed a live reading in Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (RHLSTP) released 30 september 2015.

COI Tag and Discussion

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Limmy. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Article, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.. Go4thProsper (talk) 12:52, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The single-subject editor at the root of the COI discussion, Limmy123, has deleted their user account. Please avoid the same COI editing mistakes by creating another account for the same purpose. See the discussion at WP:COIN for comment and discussion. The NPOV issues are most evident in the article’s Career section, which contains a listing of various shows and media appearances that are of limited encyclopedic value. Interested editors may want to take a look and make the cuts and revisions necessary to bring the article into line with Wikipedia standards. No further edits should be made directly by COI accounts, but instead the conflict should be disclosed on this page. Suggestions can then be made for additional edits or improvements to the article that may be considered by non-COI editors. Go4thProsper (talk) 12:53, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the Ludography section (a list of Android games that he apparently made, but without indication of notability) and an unsourced line about some of his tweeting activity. Other than that, it looks like all content of the article is now sufficiently NPOV, due, and sourced. For that reason, I've removed the COI tag. Lennart97 (talk) 15:37, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Split

[edit]

We are relying on a Twitter post to say he split with his partner. The trouble with that is he is a professional comedian who is joking 99% of the time and we don't know if this is a joke. Solipsism 101 (talk) 21:15, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And her Tweet before the one announcing says Happy New Year, everyone. I begin this year as a single lady, 'mon the single ladies and gents and tagged him.[1] Not really someone you'd tag if you were being serious. Solipsism 101 (talk) 21:20, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with this - would it be wrong to remove the Partner section of the infobox altogether for now until someone could find a better source indicating either way whether they did or didn't separate ? Leetchr (talk) 17:03, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why the blurry photo?

[edit]

nothing really to add here, surely we can use a non blurry photo? 2403:4800:2886:1400:88D9:2754:CEAE:8687 (talk) 02:25, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a a non-blurry photo that you have the rights to upload, work away. The problem with any media on Wikipedia is that you have to either be or have permission from the copyright holder to upload the image - we can't simply take any existing photo from the web and use it here freely.
