Regarding the reversal of accurate and constructive edits to this page[edit]

The reversed edits made by user Ktryan227 are supported by primary and secondary sources, which are now more clearly cited. The edits applied by Mcmatter are not accurate, and have been undone. It is unclear why these edits were made as no references were provided for the rationale nor for the information that replaced the previous content.

Regarding the architect name, please see reference: carousels.org, which clearly outlines the carvers and builders working for various carousel construction companies. Architect Daniel Muller did not work for PTC, which constructed this particular item, and it is noted that "John Zalar who carved for both Looff and PTC, and Frank Carretta, a skilled carver for PTC."

I am in communication with the current owner and restorer of this carousel, who is concerned with the misinformation about the machine, which is also found elsewhere online. We are working on recovering source material from the National Register (the item is now delisted due to its relocation and restoration, but the research contained within the listing proves highest quality research and accuracy), and on resolving the widespread misattribution and dating of this historic carousel across the internet.

For future edits, please cite reliable sources and justifications!

@MoriahRusso: the reason I reverted the edits were not because the information was false or incorrect but because it looked like vandalism as user:Ktryan227 had blanked 3/4 of the article including references, external links and categories. It was very much reminiscent of a vandal, please feel free to make corrections. My revert was only because of what looked to be unexplained blanking of an article. When he was done with the article it looked like this. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 18:51, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
