Are the "gory details" of Kluwe's letter really necessary?

[edit]

Why even single out the one small phrase? Because of the shock value of it? That's hardly encyclopedic in both content and reason. JayHubie (talk) 00:22, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censored. I think in this case the "shock value" makes the phrase encyclopedic, since I believe it was widely reported on. Though perhaps the mainstream media didn't repeat the phrase quite as much as Deadspin did. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:45, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Wikipedia IS censored in the sense that it doesn't report every single detail possible about everything. If the "shock value" is truly important AND, more importantly, encyclopedic (which it isn't), then the entire letter should be posted as the entire letter was for the "shock value." Of course, "shock value" doesn't actually make something automatically encyclopedic. I suspect you know this. JayHubie (talk) 03:08, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
