  • (Discuss)Northern red-breasted ploverNorthern New Zealand dotterel – This is in conjunction with my other proposal to change the article name of the species which these two subspecies fall under. I believe a name change is warranted under WP:COMMONNAME. In terms of the English name, Northern/southern red-breasted plover is not in common usage, whereas Northern/Southern New Zealand dotterel is used in various news articles[1][2] and scientific literature.[3] – including the paper that first described the northern subspecies.[4] To my knowledge, the IOC does not currently list any particular names for the two subspecies, in which case the common names would certainly take priority here.

  • (Discuss)North Korea–South Korea relationsInter-Korean relations – Since the term "Inter-Korean relations" is being more widely used over "North Korea–South Korea relations" (for example, in this, this, and this), I guess this article should be moved to "Inter-Korean relations". Since I've given supporting evidence on the term "Inter-Korean relations" being more widely used over "North Korea–South Korea relations", if you want this article to be moved to "Inter-Korean relations", please reply. 69.160.29.28 (talk) 04:46, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Avon River (Canterbury)Avon River / Ōtākaro – Noticed that an attempt to move this without a discussion was made a couple years ago and reverted, wanted to request a relook at this. The name 'Avon River' is already generic, with 21 rivers on the disambiguation page, including another one in a neighbouring region of New Zealand. Renaming to Avon River / Ōtākaro would not only reflect the official name of the river (which has been the dual name since the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998), but would also help to distinguish the river from others also named Avon across the world. Doing so would also better align with other dual name articles of NZ places, such as Whakaari / White Island, Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill, and Aoraki / Mount Cook, as well as the associated naming conventions for New Zealand place names. The dual name would reflect the official name according to the New Zealand Place Names register and international sources, such as the US NGA's place name register. Ōtākaro has also received a large amount of use to refer to the river and surrounding area, especially in the wake of the earthquakes which hit Christchurch. This includes by libraries and multiple businesses, in the names of cycleways along the river, and in multiple regeneration efforts relating to the river corridor. Renaming the article would better reflect the current perception of the river and contemporary naming conventions within New Zealand. Turnagra (talk) 04:27, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)CurieCurie (unit) – I doubt the unit of measurement is the primary topic for Curie. I am proposing three options. I support Option 1, but open to other interpretations. ===Option 1=== Curie is a disambiguation page with no primary topic. ===Option 2=== Curie redirects to Marie Curie with a hatnote pointing to the disambiguation page. ===Option 3=== Leave everything as is. • (Discuss)New Zealand ploverNew Zealand dotterel – I believe it's worth having a discussion about the name of this article. In New Zealand, the name New Zealand plover is seldom used compared to New Zealand dotterel. Various news sources,[1][2], scientific literature,[3][4] as well as the Department of Conservation,[5] and OSNZ,[6] refer to the species as New Zealand dotterel. I also make the note that Wikiproject Birds states that "Wikipedia bird article titles may diverge from the IOC list when the most common name in reliable sources is different from the IOC name." In addition, I would like to highlight the recent change of the Kererū's article name from its IOC name, so this would not be an unprecedented move.

  • (Discuss)Scott StatueStatue of Robert Falcon ScottWP:VAMOS says, "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere)." Disambiguation by location is not required at this time, unless editors feel the statue of Scott (which is one of many) in the Scott Monument means disambiguation would be helpful to users. --Another Believer (Talk) 22:50, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)VulvaVulva in Humans – This move was discussed in 2013 but there was no consensus. Given that I couldn't even tell if the word was limited to humans by my review of the article, perhaps it is worth reviewing the idea. But perhaps this is controversial and I lack any expertise or the time to make the case. Czrisher (talk) 17:54, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture & the EnvironmentWolfe's Neck Farm – Per WP:COMMONNAME, "Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)..." Wolfe's Neck Farm is by far the most common name. A google search of the term reveals over 25,000 hits whereas a search of the current name reveals only 6,000, despite the name being officially changed 2.5 years ago. • (Discuss)Abu'l-FidaAbulfeda – The most common form, even by excluding the word "crater" on a simple Google search (and "Abulfeda" redirects here already, not to the crater). Encyclopedias seem to mostly use variations on Abu al-Fida', but as said above it's not the most common name outside of them (not even on JSTOR) and Wikipedia is not a specialized encyclopedia so we shouldn't have to use strict or semi-strict transliterations for the sake of using them; also note that his ancestor is called Saladin here, not Salah al-Din nor Salahu'd-Din. "Abu'l-Fida" looks like a bizarrely spelt hybrid and is not as common as Abulfeda (compare Abulfeda -crater: 452 and Abu'l-Fida: 203 on JSTOR). 92.184.105.222 (talk) 13:38, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)DreamtimeThe Dreaming – General consensus within Aboriginal groups appears to suggest that "The Dreaming" is more of an appropriate term than the "dreamtime", as most Aboriginal communities do not align The Dreaming with any certain timeperiod. There's so little connection between The Dreaming and time that it has also been called the "everywhen". Prominent Australian Anthropologist W.E.H. Stanner has described that "One cannot 'fix' The Dreaming in time: it was, and is, everywhen” (Common Ground, Creative Spirits). Christine Nicholls, a Senior Lecturer at ANU with extensive experience in Aboriginal communities, explains how "The Dreaming embraces time past, present and future" and that The Dreaming wasn't a past time (i.e. "dawn of time" is incorrect) nor is timeless (Source). N.B. That Creative Spirits describes that the Aboriginal consensus is that The Dreaming has a capital T and D. ItsPugle (talk) 09:25, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Australian Aboriginal religion and mythologyAustralian Aboriginal spirituality – The words religion and mythology are not appropriate terms to use when referring to Australian Aboriginal spirituality, like the Dreaming. A myth (mythology) is false, and Wikipedia does not exist to judge or make statements of validity about spirituality, theology or ideologies. Calling Aboriginal spirituality "mythology" is a) unbelievably inconsiderate, inappropriate and demeaning, b) increadibly ignorant, and c) is in pure violation of WP:NPOV and perpetuates a white, Eurocentric and Christocentric perspective. Nor is Aboriginal spirituality a "religion", which suggests a formal structure and consistency in teaching, which isn't seen in Aboriginal spirituality (most Aboriginal Nations appear to have varied interpretations and representations of the Dreaming, for example). • (Discuss)Musi languagePalembang language – Per WP:COMMONNAME. "Musi language", while used as a reference name in Ethnologue and Glottolog, is not the most commonly used name among the speakers of the language itself. "Palembang" is listed as a synonym for Musi in Ethnologue, and I believe this alternative name fits better. Masjawad99💬 02:38, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)List of number-one Billboard Rock SongsHot Rock & Alternative Songs – I opposed a similar move previously (see above) on the grounds that at the time the article was not much more than a list of the number ones on the chart with little context or content on the chart itself. While what's there now still amounts to a stub, and at some point, the list itself can be a stand-alone, I've reconsidered my earlier thinking. The move request itself comes from this article explaining the reason for the chart being renamed. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:55, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)The Bentall CentreBentall Centre, London – There are two problems with the current name. First of all, we do not include the definite article "The" in article titles except in very specific circumstances. I don't see that they apply here, as its own website and logo (see here) refer to it as "Bentall Centre". Secondly, there are two Bentall Centres as far as I can tell: This one and Bentall Centre, Vancouver. Since this is English Wikipedia, and not British Wikipedia or UK Wikipedia, it is also read by people in Canada and they are probably more likely to be searching for the one in Vancouver, so this one should have some form of disambiguation, and London would be appropriate. • (Discuss)Judeo-Arabic languagesJudeo-Arabic dialects – Only the title of this particular page treats Judeo-Arabic dialects as languages. The rest of the article treats the subject as varieties/dialects. The articles on the specific varieties/dialects use the terms "variety" and "dialect", not "language". None of the titles of the cited sources in this page and in related pages (specific varieties) use the term language/s, they all treat them as dialects. • (Discuss)Northwest Evaluation AssociationNWEA – Northwest Evaluation Association formally changed its name to NWEA and "no longer refers to [itself] as Northwest Evaluation Association" [10]. While it is appropriate to note the historical, geographic origin of its name in the article, the accurate name of the company is "NWEA." No other name is used in any part of its identification or official business. BigRodent (talk) 18:31, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Relisting. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Hemostatic dressingQuikClot – This page is called Hemostatic dressings yet it only talks about one brand; quikclot. There are a number of other brands, such as Celox, that are not mentioned. The article lacks scope for it’s title; zeolite and kaolin are used in quikclot dressings, however it does not discuss the far more widespread chitosan based hemostatic dressings used by quikclots competitors. If you look at the edit history you can see quikclots marketing team have been on the page (WP:CONFLICT). The page seems somewhat commercial, for example listing that quikclot is used by US military but failing to note that other brands are too. It starts by saying “Hemostatic dressings, such as QuikClot...”, however the only two sections on the article (history and mechanism) are very specific to quikclot and don’t cover the history of hemostatic dressings as a whole or the mechanisms of alternate brands. Clearly commercial, should be moved appropriately and possibly tanken down for COI This page is only about one brand and does not cover the wider topic. As such, the page should be moved to the brand rather than pretending to cover a much wider topic. • (Discuss)KāveKaveh the Blacksmith – The correct name for the article. Article lead says Kaveh the Blacksmith and that is what it should be in the title. Doug Weller moved the page to Kaveh without and “h” in 2011, saying that Persians don't spell it with an H. They do (here are a few sources [13], [14]) and they don't spell it with a line above the “a” either. Just Kaveh is too basic and is used by a disambig page and the proposed title is a redirect. — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 10:35, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)T.O.P (rapper)T.O.P (musician) – Rapper is a musician and I think it's a better name for this page. Also note, under his occupation he is listed a singer and a songwriter, alongside being a rapper, which are all forms of what a musician would do, not just rapping. ❂stringDTD❂ 03:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Metro Manila SubwayMetro Manila subway – About half of sources, including some of the cited sources, treat subway as a generic descriptor, not part of a proper name, so per MOS:CAPS and WP:NCCAPS we should use lowercase for that. I tried to make this point in the previous RM discussion, but not many respondents saw that, and the closer igored it, so let's discuss. Dicklyon (talk) 23:49, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)New Plough LanePlough Lane – Consensus has recently been growing that the 'New' part of this article's title is becoming redundant. Looking over various discussions of the stadium, both within the club and beyond, seems to agree that is indeed the WP:COMMONNAME as we would determine it here. The old holder of the name has already been moved to Plough Lane (1912–98) and I've recently been working on cleaning up links to point there. I don't anticipate too many objections from here, but a discussion may yet have some merit, hence this post. Radagast (talk) 22:25, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

While this is a Chinese commonname, with the surname usually in front which is Toh. Toh Chai Keong has 1,610 google results [23] and Chai Keong Toh has 19,600 google results [24]. There is a general leaning of Singapore agencies and institutes using "Toh Chai Keong" and publications (generally US centric) using "Chai Keong Toh". He has an extensive career, both commercial and academic, spanning different countries which leads to a mix of his name being presented. As per page talkpage, there is some discussion on what the page should be named. • (Discuss)Shooting of Oscar GrantKilling of Oscar Grant – The officer in this case was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. At the very least that means Oscar Grant was killed. The title should indicate that. The fact that he was killed is the most notable fact and should be favored since COMMONNAME is a tie. --- C&C (Coffeeandcrumbs) 17:37, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)The Sun (United Kingdom)The Sun (UK and Ireland) – The Sun circulates in both the United Kingdom (The Scottish Sun and the edition titled just The Sun) and in Ireland (The Irish Sun). The article covers both the British and Irish circulations of the newspaper (as opposed to, say, only covering the England-Wales-NI edition titled just The Sun). Its title should reflect its scope. I cannot make this move as it has been locked so only admins can do so — I assume this is because The Sun is a contentious paper and the article has been moved to offensive titles in the past? Kilopylae (talk) 16:12, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Mirror boxMirror therapy – Mirror therapy (currently a re-direct to "Mirror box") is widely used to treat a wide range of problems. The mirror box, invented by Ramachandran in 1992, was the original way to deliver mirror therapy, but it is no longer the only way to do it. The proposed new title has more general interest and application than the current one. HouseOfChange (talk) 12:37, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Jack SwaggerJake Hager – I'm confident that this is his common name by now. For the past year, he has clearly established himself under his real name via his MMA career and especially AEW. Almost all of the recent headlines on him from the past 6 months refer to him as Jake Hager, and they rarely ever call him "Jack Swagger" in articles unless they're mentioning his time in WWE. • (Discuss)Template:LibertarianismTemplate:Classical liberalism – Scope concern. Doesn't much of the contents cover as much if arguably not more classical liberalism than libertarianism? The more historical the entries, the more that seems to be true, isn't it? There are conflicting accounts, but doesn't it seem that most partisans as well as observers would agree that: if classical liberalism and libertarianism are to be regarded as two distinguishable things, then since classical liberalism predated libertarianism at minimum nominally, to that extent libertarianism developed out of classical liberalism rather than other way around? One could argue for having two different templates. However, until that is offered, what about simply renaming this template, with some minor tweaks in the sections to go with it? • (Discuss)Fall (disambiguation)Fall – No primary topic. Autumn gets 16,378, Waterfall gets 14,787, Free fall gets 14,506, Fall of man gets 12,428 and Falling (accident) gets 3,721[[27]][28][29]. All of those topics are topics with long-term significance and the accident meaning is very commonly associated with "fall" and here in England that's probably what "fall" means most of the time. While I understand this term is common in the US and is used in other countries (such as England) I don't think it is commonly used here while as noted the accident meaning is. Some of the items in "Other uses" also have some long-term significance to, noting that the Piano gets 45,375 and Iris (plant) gets 37,654. Also The Fall (band) gets 12,528, Fall (Davido song) gets 5,991 (though lacking long-term significance it is a full match and gets 1 out of around 2.737) and The Fall (Gorillaz album) gets 4,816. The DAB page gets over half the views of the Falls redirect (12 v 22 a day[[30]]) suggesting many readers are landing on the wrong page (since some probably search again or give up), but not clear since people who land on the Autumn or click on the see also of other DAB could have ended up here. The US Free Dictionary lists the "verb" section first and "Autumn" as the 4th entry in the "noun" section. Similarly my Oxford Dictionary lists the verbs first and "Autumn" is the 5th item in the nouns. In summary the season gets less than some other topics so the "much more likely than any other" isn't met especially with regard to the Gorillaz album and long-term significance is held by multiple topics. I would also note that the term for the season derives "to fall from a height" so again that seems to point to long-term significance for the accident meaning. It would be far less confusing for all those not looking for the season to be sent to the DAB page rather than loading the season page and having to find the hatnote and then finding the article you want than the readers looking for the season to click on one of the 1st links on the DAB. • (Discuss)House of Peoples of Bosnia and HerzegovinaHouse of the Nation – This is a much better translation of the Serbo-Croatian. Dom is okay; it is a clipping of the Latin word domus, meaning house, and its meaning hasn't changed since that time. Naroda, however, is singular, so even if the translation is kept, it should be The People, not Peoples. That said, the word narod is most often translated as nation; the American nation is Američki narod, and the nationality field in travel passports is labelled narodnost, with the nost part being their counterpart to English ness. 45.72.238.12 (talk) 19:29, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Glenworth ValleyPopran Creek – There is a very rich European history connected to the name Popran. Furthermore, there is also a substantial amount of indigenous history in this area and it is highly probable that the connection to this history will be made by those searching for it through the "Popran" name rather than through "Glenworth. The link with "Popran National Park" is a natural connection- although please note that the Park occupies the higher ground above the Popran. In the historical record there is virtually no record of the Glenworth name but a very large amount on Popran. The Kelly family connection is a fascinating record of early convict life and nearly always is linked with "Popran" rather than "Glenworth". In addition there is a proven connection between Henry Kendall through the poet Philip J Holdsworth- and the connection occurs through the use of Popran viz: Holdsworth has a poem "In the Valley of the Popran". Furthermore there is a horse riding /camping organization where the Kelly's lived in the upper reaches of Glenworth Valley/Popran and I would suggest that this commercial operation, however meritorious, should not take precedence over the rich natural and historical heritage of the designation Popran. In the printed media (as an example please note in The publication "The Ferry, The Branch and the Creek: Aspects of Hawkesbury History, Wisemans Ferry 1988" the designation Popran Creek is clearly the preferred local designation. I would strongly defend the foregrounding of the term "Popran" over "Glenworth" and the renaming as requested of "Glenworth Valley" to "Popran Creek" has considerable merit. Alternatively, if Popran Creek cannot be used as a stand-alone Wiki page, may I suggest that we replace the two "Glenworth Valley" sites with one, and subsume the Glenworth Valley (suburb page) into the Glenworth Valley (Valley page) Do not sign this. • (Discuss)The Holocaust in the Independent State of CroatiaThe Holocaust in Croatia – At the time of writing, this is the only country-related Holocaust article on the English Wikipedia that contains a qualifier, in this case "the Independent State of..." Why the title of this particular article was singled out for this kind of treatment remains a mystery. For example, we have The Holocaust in Germany, not The Holocaust in Nazi Germany; The Holocaust in Italy, not The Holocaust in the Kingdom of Italy; The Holocaust in Serbia, not the Holocaust in the Territory of the Military Commander in Serbia, and so on. The Independent State of Croatia was the only entity called Croatia that took part in World War II, removing any room for confusion or doubt, and by extension, negating the purpose of the aforementioned qualifier. I do not agree with editors who argue that the NDH cannot otherwise be referred to simply as Croatia in some instances or that NDH citizens should not be referred to by the demonym Croatian. • (Discuss)List of current pretendersHeads of former ruling families – The word “pretender” suggests someone who claims to be a monarch, but now holds no power or legal position. This article is a list of people who have a genealogical basis to claim a throne. None of them holds a pretend court the way the Jacobites did. Here are some definitions: *Oxford Dictionaries: “A person who claims or aspires to a title or position. ‘the pretender to the throne.’ *American-Heritage Dictionary: "One who sets forth a claim, especially a claimant to a throne." *Merram-Webster "a claimant to a throne who is held to have no just title." In short, the way the word is used in this article appears to be a Wikipediaism. I suggest moving the article to "Heads of former ruling families." I have ngrammed the possibilities that occurred to me here. Allan Rice (talk) 09:09, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Normandy landingsD-Day – Per WP:COMMONNAME. The number of Google search results, terms quoted, for "Normandy landings" (655,000) are vastly outnumbered by the results for "D-Day" (33,300,000), and seeing as that term's a bit vague "D-Day" "normandy" (9,780,000), and still even completely narrowing it down "D-Day" "France" "world war" "Normandy" (2,230,000). I think it is clear which name is the most common. Yes, there can be some ambiguity, but that's why we have {{For}}. sam1370 (talk / contribs) 06:50, 15 May 2020 (UTC) Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:36, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Bir Mangoli SainianBir Mangaoli – The title should have been Bir Mangaoli, as there is just one village with this name in the Kurukshetra district: see the official details from Indian government here (archived link: [39]) or search in the District Census Handbook of Kurukshetra. In fact, there is not any village named Bir Mangoli Sainian in India, let alone in Haryana state: one can search the official records at here. So it should be moved to Bir Mangaoli without leaving a redirect. Note that the inexperienced article creator is an SPA who has added unsourced/OR claims about Saini caste in various articles, and the addition of unsourced Sainian bit in this article's title seems like an attempt to promote Sainis. One can check the original version of the article here: it is full of Saini-related unsourced claims. PS: The page can be titled either Bir Mangaoli or Bir Mangoli, but the former is not only the official name but also the common name, as it appears in four other reliable sources, while the latter one appears in just two such sources. • (Discuss)Erling Braut HålandErling Haaland – There's a couple major reasons to change this page name, which I'll highlight below. The footballer is internationally known by this spelling of his name, and I think Wikipedia is a little behind the ball. 1. WP:NAMECHANGES - there is solid evidence that he has changed his last name from Håland to Haaland to appeal to international markets, some sources: The Guardian, ESPN, The Local (Norway). Most new articles follow this new spelling, and therefore as per WP:NAMECHANGES the page name should be updated to reflect. He changed his name before exploding in popularity, so most users should be familiar with his name as Erling Haaland. 2. WP:ENGLISH - As per the above, the "anglicized" spelling of his name is Haaland which is highlighted in the lead of his page. Most English references use this spelling. In fact, almost all references in all languages use this spelling of his name - including his native Norwegian. 3. WP:COMMONNAME - his common name is Erling Haaland. His Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga, Instagram, Twitter, Fox Sports, and most other major external links list him as Erling Haaland. This by itself should be a reason to change the page name. Google news has 4.3 million pages with "Erling Haaland", versus 192k for "Erling Braut Håland" In conclusion, I think it's due time to change the page name. Overwhelming WP policy points to the name of the page being Erling Haaland. Ortizesp (talk) 16:29, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
