Newspapers for the Corfu incident

Your effort in finding all those links is commendable, but please see WP:LINKFARM. It would serve the article far better if you used these links to expand it, rather than simply list them there. And, if you do that, be advised of WP:RS, specifically WP:NEWSORG. Most contemporary newspapers contain editorial views and/or bias, and are not the best source material to use for historical articles. Constantine 17:13, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Greek names

Hello. Please note that according to long-established Wikipedia practice only names in Ancient Greek are relevant to articles about Ancient Greece [1][2][3]. In addition, note this. --Omnipaedista (talk) 22:39, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not omit diacritics when adding Ancient Greek text to articles as you did here and here. Also take a look at MOS:CAPS. [4][5] --Omnipaedista (talk) 08:44, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Nike of Callimachus. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Callimachus (polemarch). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Callimachus (polemarch) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Aerospeed (Talk) 12:40, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Greek mythology in popular culture, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 04:36, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Crater (constellation) into List of Greek mythological creatures. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:40, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the edits

Thanks for all the edits on Tenedos, a page that needs someone to now edit the content down into something that makes sense. However, as someone who watches the page, it would help if you did not mark content additions as minor. According to Help:Minor edit, if you are adding content of any type then it is not a minor edit. So, if it has a citation (which a lot of your edits did), then it isn't a minor edit by definition. Thanks for the editing and this just insures that we are all working together and not at cross purposes. Gracias. AbstractIllusions (talk) 01:19, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Istanbul Film Festival censorship

Hello, I just removed the bit on the Istanbul International Film Festival article where you had added censorship to The Last Schnitzel referring to an FT article. As opposed to that article, the Turkish language news articles and the bianet article in English state otherwise, that the said film was withdrawn at another festival, the !f istanbul film festival which takes place in February. These articles are dated Fenruary as well, before the istanbul film festival in april. http://www.sinematopya.com/2017/02/haluk-bilginerli-son-sinitsel-filmine-sansur.html http://www.filmloverss.com/f-istanbul-programinda-yer-alan-haluk-bilginer-li-kisa-film-the-last-schnitzel/ http://m.bianet.org/english/freedom-of-expression/183720-the-film-last-schnitzel-censored

Momus

Where in the article is there any indication that Momus is a trickster deity? Sweetpool50 (talk) 23:25, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sweetpool50 you are right the article does not mention the Momus as a trickster deity, I got confused because of this Modernism and Charisma. book which mention Momus as a trickster god and thought that the article will mention it too. You can delete my edits if you want. Gre regiment (talk) 12:21, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That was interesting, thanks. I had a look at the book and found, as I rather suspected, that it was the Renaissance interpretation of Momus that was being discussed there. That's OK, because the article covers an evolving figure as reflected mainly in literary texts. However, so far as I can see from excerpts, the author is equating satirical criticism with trickster behaviour, which I personally feel is stretching the definition too far. When dealing with references, one of the things to be borne in mind is whether the ideas command academic assent, which would mean checking on peer reviews. Let's leave it that I'll remove that category for now, for the reason discussed. If someone adds to the article later and traces the development from satirist to clown (who is undoubtedly a trickster, though not a deity!) then it can always go back in. Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Women in Turkey, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Seraphim System (talk) 08:53, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Hermesianax (disambiguation)

Hello, Gre regiment,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Hermesianax (disambiguation) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hermesianax (disambiguation) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,
