Hello, Het666

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Arif Khan (skier), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Punjab Legislative Assembly

Even after defection, MLAs belong to their original party untill Speaker decides the question of their membership. Moreover, under Anti-defection law, defection by less than 1/3rd of total Party MLAs cause disqualification but seats not declared vacant until Speaker doesn't declare so. Regarding Punjab Lok Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt), these parties are still not recognised and registered by Election Commission of India, so how these parties can be shown as member parties of Punjab Legislative Assembly.

Please Provide reference where Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly officially recognised Shiromani Akali Dal as Main Opposition party and it's leader as Leader of Opposition. Singh, Manakpreet (talk) 12:32, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Hike395. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to K2 seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Information icon Hi Het666! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 12:10, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Venkat TL. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Information icon Thank you for your comments, which you added in discussion at 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. Please note that, on Wikipedia, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of the arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. If your comments concerned a deletion discussion, please consider reading Wikipedia's deletion policy for a brief overview of the deletion process. We hope that you decide to stay and contribute even more. Thank you! Venkat TL (talk) 08:09, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 10:02, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

Wikipedia goes by reliable sources, not by your opinion or my opinion. You have been persistently removing well-sourced text and replacing it with your own unsourced opinion today, at several articles, notably Jai Shri Ram and Hindutva. You have been warned before about removing sourced text, and about adding unsourced. This post suggests that you have no respect for Wikipedia's principle of using reliable sources. You have been blocked for one week. Please take more interest in our policies when you return after the block, or you will soon be blocked indefinitely. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. Discretionary Sanctions alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Control copyright icon Hello Het666! Your additions to Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 16:09, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

September 2022

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Arvind Kejriwal into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 13:49, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Netball at the 2022 National Games of India

Hi. Currently the article (Netball at the 2022 National Games of India) says that games were played between October 26 and 30, but it's currently the 1st; how is this possible? Ovinus (talk) 03:32, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's from Oficial site of national which shows it was concluded on 30th September, that's was right too. Check Oficial website. Het666 (talk) 04:27, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? The article says Netball events were held from 26 October 2022 to 30 October 2022. Is that a typo? Ovinus (talk) 04:33, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ohh it's my mistake Het666 (talk) 07:25, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gotcha, thanks for fixing it. Also in the future, please use more edit summaries; it really helps others understand what you're doing, even if you think it's relatively simple. For example, "fixing dates" might have been a good edit summary for Special:Diff/1113590806. Cheers. Ovinus (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2023 National Games of India requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.insidesport.in/national-games-2023-goa-to-host-37th-national-games-in-october-2023-ioa/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia as a source

Venkat TL(talk) hey please help, can we use other Wikipedia s page as source?

Het666, no, You cannot use just a wikipedia page link as a reference. However you are free to use the text and the reference from that wikipedia page and copy it while clearly mentioning the source in edit summary. You should use this exact phrase "Copied content from 14th Gujarat Assembly; see that page's history for attribution" . So that way you can recycle content from Wikipedia. But if the page you want to use has no source for the content you want to copy, then you should not copy. Venkat TL (talk) 18:20, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Are you familiar with the WP:BRD process. If you add something and it gets removed by another user, you should not add it until a consensus is achieved according to the WP:DISPUTERESOLUTION methods.

Right now both articles are protected and have been reverted to a version that is not mine and is a version before the recent edit warring disputes. I need your support and cooperation to prevent any further edit warring on the election pages. Or else the admins will protect the page and it cannot be updated anymore. If WP:BRD is violated and a second revert is made, those should be reported. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Great Nicobar Development Plan moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Great Nicobar Development Plan, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
