April 2021[edit]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Next Delhi Legislative Assembly election. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted. Nitesh003 (talk) 05:44, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How is the edit disruptive? You only have to only write the number of majority seats in the infobox and not the whole statement. What kind of sentence is "36 needed for a majority seats needed for a majority"? You are only supposed to write the number and that's what I corrected. That's how it is written in every election page. Dhruv edits (talk) 19:54, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why Are You Adding All 8 Independents Who Supporting MVA Into NDA?

Why Are You Increasing NCP Number From 53 To 54 (NCP Mla Bharat Bhalke Has Been Passed Away Long Back)?

Why Are Keeping NCP In First Compared To Shiv Sena Which Have More MLAS?

Tagging pages for speedy deletion[edit]

Hello, Dhruv edits,

A couple of comments. First, please become familiar with the criteria for speedy deletion at Criteria for Speedy Deletion. You can't just ask for a page to be deleted, it has to meet one of the specified criteria. There are General criteria and then ones that are specific to different name spaces on the project.

Secondly, any time you tag a page for deletion, whether CSD, PROD or AFD/TFD/CFD/etc., you need to post a notice on the talk page of the page creator to inform them that you have tagged the page. This is made easier if you make use of Twinkle and set up your Preferences to "Notify page creator", then Twinkle will post these notices for you.

If you have questions about any of this, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:13, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A Barnstar, and a note about edit summaries[edit]

Hi!

We've both been combatting disruptive editing on various Indian politics articles for quite a while now. I would like to thank you for your work in this particular field, as your efforts to maintain these articles have helped a lot.

That said, I'd like to ask for you to be a bit better at explaining your edits. I've noticed a recent incident on the page 2021 elections in India involving multiple reversions of a relatively new editor. While reverting those changes was certainly justified, if you're not reverting obvious vandalism, it's better to leave an edit summary. I'd recommend going to the "editing" tab of Special:Preferences and turning on the option that prompts you to leave one.

All Wikipedia editors make mistakes, especially new ones like them. Even highly experienced admins sometimes make mistakes (some of the greatest are immmortalised at WP:Village stocks.) New editors often engage in disruptive editing in good faith; I certainly did. We risk losing potentially valuable contributors by failing to explain why content they added was removed.

That said, that's a minor point; I do really want to acknowledge the good work that you've done with this barnstar:

The Working Wikipedian's Barnstar
Thanks for your efforts to maintain and improve articles about Indian politics. In particular, your efforts to maintain the Legislative Assembly articles, often targets of disruptive editing, are much appreciated. Keep it up, and, again, thank you for maintaining these often-overlooked but important articles. YttriumShrew (talk) 08:49, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding reverts.[edit]

Hello. With a non inclined faith I ask you why you restored those values? Are they published? Are they truly relevent? Please see election article on 2022 Uttar pradesh data. Only polestar and c voters data is given. Nav Bharat times data clearly focuses on AAP which is evident on Uttarakhand and Goa article! Their data is showing congress half and aap double the other! Please create a talk on the issue that which data to be kept else don't restore. Be neutral and rational. Thank you! Krish edits675 (talk) 09:17, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a problem with reliability of a source then raise an issue on Wikipedia:Reliable sources and achieve a community consensus. Until a source is accepted as unreliable by the community, polls conducted by such sources should be added. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:20, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I question reliability of those data's. See DB live polls which are removed these days from Wikipedia. They were more tilted to opposition Congress than governing BJP. So, I respect keeping neutral and consistent poll data's. Krish edits675 (talk) 09:23, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DB Live polls were removed because they contained only YouTube as source, the data was not published, this is not the same case. Unless you have achieved a consensus on reliability of this source, don't remove them. Keep a neutral point of view. Also if you revert the edits again, you would be failing the Wikipedia:Edit warring#The three-revert rule, which constitutes Wikipedia:Edit warring. Apna Dal moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Apna Dal, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 06:18, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reserved constituency[edit]

Hi Dhruv, Need your advice here. Do you think this edit that added SC tags to constituency names is appropriate? Is it standard? Does ECI and media also mention SC everytime they list these constituency names? If No then wikipedia should not tag it here. The reservation is mentioned in the constituency infobox, anyway. What do you think? Venkat TL (talk) 18:58, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SC/ST has been added to constituency names in some of the assembly articles like Delhi and Uttarakhand. I think some news sites do add it, when declaring full list of results. Not sure about whether ECI also do this when publishing the list of seat winners. Dhruv edits (talk) 19:16, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I will let it stay in future. Venkat TL (talk) 19:20, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I also want to know, what's the election symbol of NISHAD Party Mahesh Chhanga 78 (talk) 10:34, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

They had "plate with food" as election symbol in 2017. Not sure if they get the same again since they are unrecognised party. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:54, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I had searched for ECI notifications for free symbols alloted to parties but couldn't found for NISHAD Party. Mahesh Chhanga 78 (talk) 12:34, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Manipur related thoughts[edit]

I think it is very complicated. I saw the comments on the talk page by the IP user, who wanted to include JDU. If wikipedia editors are following the criteria of major party based on sitting MLAs then his argument is valid (I am assuming he is right when he says MLAs have joined JDU). Overall, this concept of Major candidate is itself needs a clear definition before it can be implemented. In my opinion wikipedia editors should not name any candidate. After results just the winners and runners up can be added. before that the candidate name should not be included into election pages. What do you think? Is there any central discussion on this before? If not may be in April wikipedia editors should have a discussion and decide some rules on this. Currently it is grey and leads to so many edit wars. Opinion polls is another problem. Venkat TL (talk) 09:41, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is a grey area, I don't think there are any ground rules for this right now. I removed NPF because adding their candidates makes no sense since they are only contesting 10 seats, and not a part of any alliance.
Basis the recent trend in election articles, candidates of 3-4 parties are being added. I don't mind that, provided candidates of key parties are only added. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:51, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you are probably right there. basically i think listing all members will be a vioaltion of Indiscriminate and WP:NOTDIRECTORY. After result, we have a basis that the winners are being named. before results, there is no basis. In any case, we should revisit this after the current cycle is over. Grey should be made B&W. Venkat TL (talk) 09:57, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think a number could be set for the max no. of parties whose candidates can be added in an election article, once this cycle is over. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:03, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. Please remind me if I forget. Venkat TL (talk) 10:34, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New logo of MCD[edit]

Dhruv will Wikipedia commons allow the new logo uploaded on Municipal Corporation of Delhi (mcdonline.nic.in)? I have cropped and modified the logo from the side and uploaded to Wikipedia Commons as my own work https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:MCD_Logo_New.png. i said it because Wikipedia suddenly deleted two portraits of chief ministers of state even after i added the website policy from which I have taken the portraits. They say don't know what to do with the policy even it's free to use. For this MCD's policy states every "No page or information of this website can be reproduced without permission of competent authority. The contents of this website are updated and owned by Municipal Corporation of Delhi." What I know many editors takes images from govt or govt services websites and uploads under their own name irrespective the website policy. Sometimes they upload the authors name i.e Govt of Punjab or like that there is no info whether the editor has got any permission or not and i likely the editor hasn't. But their images still stay on commons. Even many website has no policy at all too. What I know any govt work uploaded on website which is in public domain is free and can be reproduced without any permission but the author or the creator must be acknowledged irrespective of the website policy. I know this because i work as an intern in a state govt department. Debjyoti Gorai 20:16, 22 May 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Debjyoti Gorai (talkcontribs)

State governments of India[edit]

Their is not names of governers and chief ministers in the page but I think it is very essential for the page as they are the head of government Ku423winz1 (talk) 08:22, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ku423winz1 Governors' names are not necessary since they are not part of state legislature. I agree CM's name can be added to that table. You could add a column for CM after party column. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:29, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reduction of union territories from State Goverments of India[edit]

Union territories have union territorial government (ref→ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_of_Puducherry ). This page is for just state governments, not union territorial government. Union territorial government are different from state governments and their power is lesser than that of a state government. So union territories should be reduced from the list in my thoughts Ku423winz1 (talk) 19:17, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ku423winz1 The term 'state government' is often used as an umbrella term to include governments of both states and UTs. See State legislative assemblies of India and many such pages. Reference names[edit]

I have no idea why you edited the article on the Aam Aadmi Party, Gujarat to remove citations to an article in The Indian Express dated 13 March 2022. But it did that a useful reference name: "Indian Express AAP 13 March 2022". That kind of reference name is a lot more useful than ":1". Please fix this.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:35, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Toddy1 New office bearers have been announced for Gujarat. I have replaced the old citation with the latest reference having updated info. Changed the ref name to "AAP Gujarat office bearers" now. Dhruv edits (talk) 18:31, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gorkhaland Territorial Administration[edit]

TMC has alliance with BGPM. Read the article: https://m.jagran.com/west-bengal/darjeeling-west-bengal-bgpm-president-anit-thapa-went-to-kolkata-to-meet-cm-mamta-banerjee-after-winning-the-gta-elections-22864315.html During the election, they have problems in seat selection of just one seat, that's why BGPM contested 36 and TMC 10. Source removed[edit]

What's the point in removing a source? Please answer what was wrong with that source?? Article headline says the similar thing which other articles have also written. Moreover, the article was auto generated/written by PTI (Press Trust of India)

Published article only contains information which is common knowledge. I have added topic on talk page of the article as well. Sorry if asking this question on your personal talk page is not allowed. I'm new FofS&E (talk) 03:57, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@FofS&E A couple of things:
  1. There is nothing wrong in leaving a message at someone's talk page. It's one of the ways we communicate with other editors.
  2. Deprecated source are not supposed to be added to articles. Only citations from reliable sources should be added. I have replaced the deprecated source with a reliable source.
  3. When you add reference, make sure you add it as inline citation, i.e. right after the text for which the reference has been added, like I have done here. Please see Wikipedia:Inline citation and Wikipedia:Citing sources. Dhruv edits (talk) 04:09, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit removed[edit]

Hi you removed my edit on 2022 conservative leadership. I had put it up there previously and another person took it down because there was copyright. I owned the copyright so i revoked it and was then told to put it back up now that i had revoked it. Im not sure why you appear to disagree with them but please could you allow me to put it back up. Cheers, Francisco FranciscoJLl (talk) 22:12, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@FranciscoJLl Hi. The image has been removed because it is redundant and not needed. The information is already available in textual, tabular and graphic format. Adding an image to convey the same information serves no purpose. Dhruv edits (talk) 22:42, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
adding an image can allow some readers to quickly get an idea of what the article is about through the slideshow of images. It also serves tremendous purpose as it is an interesting display which gives exact numbers for the change from the first ballot which is not anywhere on the page. It is therefore unique information and is not the same. FranciscoJLl (talk) 22:49, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@FranciscoJLl A few things:
  1. Wikipedia is definitely not a "slideshow of images".
  2. The image gets blurry in low resolution, making it futile and unusable.
  3. It's from a source that is not notable
  4. You seem to have a personal interest in this source and you haven't declared it, which is against wiki policies.
@FranciscoJLl You can try to achieve a consensus for it on the talk page of the article, but do not re-add the image without consensus Dhruv edits (talk) 23:38, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Election article survey[edit]

Hi, the upcoming election articles are getting updated now. 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. What is your position regarding the survey poll section. I have had long discussions on the UP election page about them. Please check the example of 2022 United States Senate election in Ohio#Polling. I want to draw your attention towards the detailed data transparency and the reliablity of the their polls vs Indian polls. Our op polls are way off the mark, while their polls are much closer to the final results. Indian opinion polls in my opinion are nothing more than political ads. what should be done, how to proceed? Venkat TL (talk) 14:59, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Venkat TL Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I was taking a break from wikipedia for the past few weeks.
I don't think we can remove the section, since opinion poll/survey is an important component of election articles. It is very difficult to prove bias in opinion polls. I think polls from national news agencies, that are supported by secondary sources, should be added unless they are deprecated/ highly unreliable. Regional sources of opinion polls have a higher chance of being wrong/ biased imo. Dhruv edits (talk) 16:27, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can refer to my elaborate comments on Talk of 2022 UP election and its archive, where I have argued in detail with many quotes and references. If there are reliable pollsters like Nielson they release the error % along with sample size like they do for US elections (check link above). In the absence of these details, it is not apple to apple comparison. IndiaTV is a pro BJP site. Notice that TheHindu a reliable source does not do opinion polls, nor Indian Express, we should not be giving coverage to paid news. Which is why I am strongly against adding them into the election page. I am not sure where I can start this discussion. WT:POI ? WP:RSN? where do you suggest. Venkat TL (talk) 08:05, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL I think WT:POI and WT:IND would be the most appropriate. WP:RSN would be tough since it would require proving that all of these news agencies are unreliable in general. Dhruv edits (talk) 03:22, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Official name changes and moves[edit]

Hey. To expand a bit on my point at RfPP with an example: despite Ukraine having officially changing the name of their capital from Kiev to Kyiv, it took 12 years and 16 move requests to finally reach the consensus that COMMONNAME applied to the capital's new official name. I should know, I was the admin who oversaw that last move request when it was finally changed (there was so much WP:CANVASSING I actually had to pause it for a month). Now, granted, that's a bit of an extreme example, but I think it helps to illustrate that it can and does vary highly. HTH. Regards, El_C 16:46, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wrote all that for nothing. :( El_C 20:14, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

PLFS PDF added[edit]

Now I have added PDF link of PLFS survey. Do you have any official document showing higher % of unemployment in Gujarat than national average? Reva1804 (talk) 05:24, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you consider PLFS of GOI a reliable source? If yes, please don't remove the lines I have added.

@Reva1804 You have once again removed information from reliable sources on your last edits, after being warned against it twice on your talk page and without any consensus and proper reasoning. You are currently engaged in edit war at 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. I suggest you revert your edit and restore the properly referenced content that you have removed, and then seek WP: Consensus on the talk page of the article for the content you want to add. Continuous disruptive edits and edit warring may lead to a block from editing.
@Dhruv Edits Why did you remove my PLFS based edit earlier?
@Reva1804 I have already explained twice. There was no pdf file in the reference you added, which meant that the information you added was unsourced. You also removed sourced content in that edit, and so it was reverted. You were then warned about removing sourced content and adding unsourced/poorly sourced content on your talk page and edit summary. But you still went ahead and again removed sourced content while adding the pdf. You should revert back your edits and seek consensus on talk page for your edits before you are reported for disruptive editing and edit warring. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:03, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv EditsWhat consensus is required for official PLFS data? Do you have any data proving Gujarat has higher unemployment than National average ? You can add additional info but please don't remove the first two lines which I have added, as I have given official proof. Reporting is not the way to go, as it would seem that you aren't able to provide any official source for your claim that Gujarat has high unemployment numbers Reva1804 (talk) 06:10, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Reva1804 You have removed this from the article without any reasoning and consensus "and the Gujarat BJP government was able to give jobs to only 0.35% of unemployed youth over the last 2 years.[1]" This is disruptive editing. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:23, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is a misleading claim, as it talks about only govt. jobs, whereas Gujarat is a highly industrialized state provide large no. of jobs in private sector. Reva1804 (talk) 06:29, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Reva1804 There is nothing misleading about that reference or content added for that reference. You should see WP:NPOV and WP:CENSOR since you are clearly pushing out your point of view and censoring information unfavorable to the Gujarat Government. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:37, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is also nothing wrong in the fact that Gujarat has low unemployment rates, much lower than AAP states, and is a prosperous state. However you are repeatedly trying to remove this information, even after providing PLFS official proof. And now you have taken the route of reporting to remove the fact that Gujarat is much better on unemployment front than other states. Reva1804 (talk) 06:42, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2024 Lok Sabha polls[edit]

NPP will contest 2023 Meghalaya election alone.[1]I have given a link where it is written that CPIM led LDF is bracing for 2024 Lok Sabha polls and another link from New Age (CPI organ) mentioned CPIM, CPI, CPIML Liberation, AIFB and RSP have decided to fight together.[2] BJP and INC have not announced their alliance for 2024 election. But they have continous alliance for several years. Left parties have also been continuous in Lok Sabha polls. Kerala Congress (M) is part of LDF and according to Deccan Chronicle, SUCI(C) is also part of left front.[3] When I enter the Left Front in 2024 election with those citations, no editor raised objection. Do not remove Assam Jatiya Parishad from UPA. XYZ 250706 (talk) 12:40, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 Understand the difference between the 2 pages: 2023 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election and Next Indian general election. NPP is still part of NDA govt at Lok Sabha. Stop your disruptive editing. Unlike NDA and UPA, there is no alliance of Left Parties in Lok Sabha right now, that's why it will not be added until an alliance is officially declared. Help (Political article)[edit]

Hello @Dhruv edits:, I hope you are doing good. I reached you because I found you to be active on political/election related articles. I wanted to ask what should place in change in seats and voting percentage when it is a first assembly? Regarding the article: 1955 Andhra State Legislative Assembly election after the creation of Andhra State and also on 1962 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election since it is after the merging of Hyderabad state and Andhra state. Can you help me with clarifying my doubt. Thank you

@456legend Hi. Sorry for the late response. I have been inactive since December. I hope this issue has been resolved. Let me know if there's still any doubt regarding this. Dhruv edits (talk) 16:51, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dhruv edits Hello, thank you for thr response. The issue is not yet resolved. I am still confused what to place in seat change when it is a first election here particularly considering the situations like bifurcation of the state and merging of the state.456legend(talk) 18:46, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend For the 1962 election, last election seats would be the sum of seats won by parties in 1955 Andhra election (containing only Andhra region) and 1957 United Andhra election (containing only erstwhile Hyderabad region). So in case of Congress, last election seats for 1962 election would be 119+68=187 seats. Seasts won by Congress in 1962 is 177 seats. So there is a change of -10 seats. Dhruv edits (talk) 22:53, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dhruv edits Okay got it. But what about the 1955 Andhra State Legislative Assembly election (only Andhra region after division from Madras) and 1957 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election (only Hyderabad region).
Asking this bc the total number of seats are differing with previous election in the case of Hyderabad. In 1952 Hyderabad state contains 175 seats but whereas 1955 Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad region) contains 105 seats. 456legend(talk) 03:27, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend. The difference in no. of seats is too significant, so I don't think last election seats should be added for 1957 election (when compared to 1952 Hyderabad), since it won't give the correct picture. Dhruv edits (talk) 03:41, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dhruv edits okay thank you for the clarification. I will consider it as a fresh election for 1957 and provide a note regarding the seat change. 456legend(talk) 04:51, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@456legend You should also ask User:MPGuy2824 regarding this. He is very experienced in this matter and has worked on a lot of old election pages. TIPRA colour[edit]

Hey, the colour for Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance doesn't seem to work with {{Party color|Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance}} but only with the old name {{Party color|The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance}}. Can you fix this? Ok123l (talk) 07:34, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tripura election[edit]

@Dhruv edits The leader's seat is written in infobox, but it is not visible. Can you please fix this issue? XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:09, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706. 'Leader since' and 'Leader's seat' parameters have been removed from the infobox template. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:11, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 There is a proposal (RFC) to reinstate the 2 parameters. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elections and Referendums. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:15, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

February 2023[edit]

@Dhruv edits Please do not remove information without proper explanation. This citation [1] says that CPIM will ally with SP in UP and RJD in Bihar. This citation [2] says that "KCR, who last week rechristened his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), is presently in New Delhi, holding discussions on the structure and philosophy of his new outfit. He has already announced that his party would work with the CPI and CPI (M) in building up a national alternative to the BJP. " XYZ 250706 (talk) 07:03, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 No alliance has been announced. Both links are speculative. Until pan India alliance is announced by both parties, it should not be added to the election page. Holding talks with parties in a hope to form alliance is not enough. Wait for official announcement. Dhruv edits (talk) 07:10, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Shivsena[edit]

@Dhruv edits Election commission has announced that Shinde faction of Shivsena will retain the the name and bow and arrow symbol of the Balasaheb Thackeray-founded party. So I think we should merge Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena with main Shiv Sena. XYZ 250706 (talk) 15:58, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on Delhi MCD[edit]

Please do not revert edits unnecessarily and create confusion. The results were already declared yesterday, however, MCD secretary had submitted a report recommending new election to Mayor and Commissioner.

But after Delhi HC judgement, the previous results are valid.

@NoworNever007. The revert wasn't unnecessary. Information added must include a citation from a reliable source. Unsourced information should not be added to Wikipedia articles. UPA[edit]

@Dhruv edits [1] this citation directly or indirectly says that UPA was the alliance led by Congress with the help of like-minded parties from 2004 to 2014 and Congress wants to rejuvenate the UPA model for 2024 election. Should we keep UPA as existing alliance or not? Besides, regional parties having alliance or seat-sharing with congress in the state does not mean that they are part of UPA. Please give your valuable opinion. XYZ 250706 (talk) 06:37, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although it is an opinion, Mamata Banerjee also said that UPA does not exist now. XYZ 250706 (talk) 06:38, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 UPA still has ongoing alliance in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and some state legislative assemblies. Mamata Banerjee's own views about it are irrelevant. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:07, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National Parties in 2024[edit]

@Dhruv edits National parties in India have some extra advantage over other parties. They can user their particular symbol all over India and the government provides land or a building for the National parties to erect their party headquarters. I think national parties in India can be regarded as major parties for Lok Sabha election. Besides if you look at the national parties, all parties (Except NPP) have national significance. Shouldn't we add them in the infobox? XYZ 250706 (talk) 05:24, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 Only parties that are major contenders should be added. Being a national party doesn't mean they would be a major party for election. There are a lot of state parties that get more Seasts that national parties in Lok Sabha elections. As per WP:RS and historical data, only 2 alliances are major contenders for the election. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:48, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023[edit]

@Dhruv edits Can you please add GP, PS and ZP under Contesting seats column in 2023 West Bengal Panchayat elections like you added Chief Minister and Alliance partner under Government in State/UTs column in List of political parties in India? XYZ 250706 (talk) 07:41, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhruv edits Can you correct Politics/Political parties in different states of India articles with updated status of parties? XYZ 250706 (talk) 08:09, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 I have added columns for TMC, you can copy it for others. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:22, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 Don't add templates to parties that have brackets in their name. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:24, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhruv edits I added dab=yes template which showed full name. XYZ 250706 (talk) 12:42, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 That's fine. Dhruv edits (talk) 17:17, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv edits Adding visible empty table is not good. But there is no issue to add hidden table. XYZ 250706 (talk) 10:33, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 There are many months before any candidate will be announced. That table adds bytes to the article for no reason as of now. Should be done next year. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:35, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AIFB[edit]

@Dhruv edits All India Forward Bloc is the part of SPA, the rulling alliance in Tamil Nadu. But it has no MLA in the state. Should we add it as Government in 1 state as Alliance partner in List of political parties in India or not? XYZ 250706 (talk) 06:04, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 No. You cannot be part of government without having any MLA in the assembly. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:26, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 Uttar Pradesh municipal elections[edit]

If there is more entries, then district wise total wards and chairman for Nagar Panchayat can be done. Sid54126 (talk) 08:55, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sid54126 Please see WP: NOTEVERYTHING. Wikipedia has to add a summary of the election, not the detailed election results. Adding results of small municipalities which are not even remotely notable on Wikipedia is completely unnecessary. For councils and municipalities, only no. of wards and chairmanship win per party is enough. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:05, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rule[edit]

@Dhruv edits Is there any rule that a party getting more than 5% votes can be added to infobox? XYZ 250706 (talk) 12:04, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@XYZ 250706 No. Parties are added to infobox only if WP:RS state that they are major contenders for the election. See MOS:INDELECT. Dhruv edits (talk) 12:19, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Karnataka 2023[edit]

@Dhruv edits Why you removed many parties in others section of 2023 Karnataka election. The CEO file contains other parties like CPI, NCP. XYZ 250706 (talk) 13:25, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can see you have kept only national parties and recognised state party in Karnataka JD(S). But in Wikipedia, other important parties like CPI, NCP, JD(U) are also added. XYZ 250706 (talk) 13:31, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 No WP:RS showing their significance for this election. All of them contesting handful of seats, with little to no election coverage. CEO Karnataka link (I shared below) doesn't mention them. Also, as I mentioned at Talk:2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election, the 2 regional parties should be added instead pf these parties as they are in the list with significant number of seats. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't. Link [3] Dhruv edits (talk) 14:14, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But some sources are there about CPI and NCP. Like CPI contesting in 7 seats and supporting Congress in 215, SKP and CPI(M) in 1 seat each; NCP contesting in 9 seats can harm INC's poll prospects etc. Although NPP is a national party, it has also no significant coverage for this election. XYZ 250706 (talk) 15:10, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Besides parties like CPI, NCP, JD(U) are some famous parties in India whose news get place in reliable sources and newspapers almost in daily basis. XYZ 250706 (talk) 15:14, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That CEO file have added some parties (which are not recognised national parties or state party in Karnataka) on the basis of contesting seats. It has added SUCI(C) which gets very.. less amount of votes in any election. XYZ 250706 (talk) 15:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 Reliable sources must pertain to the particular election. Just being a famous party is not enough. CPI and CPIM are also non existent party in Karnataka based on 2018 election and very limited independent coverage on their candidates and campaigns (except support to JDS/congress). They should be removed as well. Dhruv edits (talk) 15:25, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 On second thought, CPI might be added back and NPP can be removed. There is no WP:RS on final seats of NCP and JDU, so they shouldn't be added. Dhruv edits (talk) 15:55, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
www.ndtv.com/karnataka-news/sharad-pawars-party-ncp-fields-9-candidates-for-karnataka-elections-3969129/ This source says about NCP. XYZ 250706 (talk) 16:20, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XYZ 250706 Added back. Couldn't find major coverage for JDU or NPP. Dhruv edits (talk) 16:23, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SKP Alliance[edit]

Hello, I read an article then i added information about the alliance in the article of 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election, you should too read this one [4] and then think about it. Shukriyaa Heera Bhai (talk) 06:22, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Heera Bhai. Please note that supporting one candidate of a party is not an alliance. Pre-poll alliance means contesting elections together in a seat sharing arrangement. SKP is contesting in other seats as well where it will be against Congress candidates. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:26, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood sir, but party should be listed somewhere in that article. Party also won 1 seat in 2013. Shukriya Heera Bhai (talk) 06:41, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Heera Bhai Other than Congress supporting its candidate in one seat (for which there is a note in the article), there isn't much coverage of the party from reliable sources. If the party ends up winning a seat, it can be added on later. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:47, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adjourned Election[edit]

Thanks for correcting me but can you include adjourned elections in a new list in the same page. I included because I saw an adjourned election in 2018 from Meghalaya i.e. Williamnagar Vidhan Sabha constituency. If you kindly include it I will be happy because I have recently started editing. Thank you. Priyanshu Baruah 1962 (talk) 14:02, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Priyanshu Baruah 1962. It doesn't need to be added separately because it remains a part of 2023 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election, irrespective of the different date of election. I have removed Williamnagar from 2018 election page as well. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:08, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Priyanshu Baruah 1962 (talk) 14:10, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you so keen[edit]

why are you soo keen to replace Karnataka Legislative Assembly pic when I have already uploaded OrthosKral (talk) 15:26, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@OrthosKral As I have mentioned in the edit summary, the image used at 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election should not be used at Karnataka Legislative Assembly because if some user erroneously adds a newer version to that file, it would also be reflected at the election page. Your other image shows SKP and independents as a part of govt, which is clearly not true yet, that's why it was replaced. Dhruv edits (talk) 15:55, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK will make sure OrthosKral (talk) 00:47, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

16 May 2023[edit]

First of all it is none of your buisness what I write on a talk page on Wikipedia. If you want to see reliable source, visit school's Mandatory Disclosure Page.

You have been editing and removing my content for a long time. Seems you are obsessed with sth. If a fee hike topic is being discussed on a talk page, it concerns the students and parents and is not a regular occurrence. NoworNever007 (talk) 21:01, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@NoworNever007 It's everybody's business what anybody writes on Wikipedia. Please see WP:BURDEN. If you want to add something on Wikipedia, it is your responsibility to provide references from reliable sources. Wikipedia policies have to be followed by everyone on Wikipedia. The only other time I had an interaction with you was when you made unsourced edits to Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which was correctly reverted by me. Reverting 2 poorly made edits by you is not really stalking. Read WP:STALKING to understand the meaning of the word on Wikipedia. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:23, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is exactly why you should not remove content and act in a biased manner. And, the fact of matter is, I had added citations to the Wikipedia page of MCD Standing Committee members and this time also I had linked the word fee to the school website. All edits are properly sourced or have external links provided NoworNever007 (talk) 21:27, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@NoworNever007 You were clearly ranting on the talk page of the school regarding fee hike, telling them to "Roll back the fee hike". That's against Wikipedia talk page policies, for which you were given a warning. It is better to just accept you made a mistake and correct yourself rather than doubling down on it. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:33, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@NoworNever007 Also calling people biased and stalker on Wikipedia without any proof is a WP:PERSONAL ATTACK, but I am letting this go and not reporting you to the admins for it. Please go through Wikipedia's policies properly because other users are not usually forgiving when it comes to personal attacks. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:37, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had corrected that and mentioned about the fee hike. But you had completely removed the topic. Instead you could ask for corrections. NoworNever007 (talk) 02:38, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Navin123explorer Gutha Sukender Reddy of TRS is the chairperson as shown on the official website. Dhruv edits (talk) 06:43, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's because they are still majority in that house. That will change once INC gets majority however govt is not decided by which party gets majority in upper assembly. It is similar to Rajya Sabha in central govt. Upper house is never dissolved. Navin123explorer (talk) 10:48, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Navin123explorer I understand that. Until INC elects more people to the council and the gets the chairmanship, TRS still has majority and chairmanship of the council. Assembly result doesn't change that. Council sessions are separate, and those will be still be headed by TRS. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:12, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Shahdara district, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. That's a terrible article. Hardly any sources so there is no reason I shouldn't delete most of it. Maybe you could help but you haven't so far. Doug Weller talk 15:01, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Doug Weller The information is clearly in the citation that I have added. Please go through the citation properly. The last paragraph in the ref contains that information. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:01, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller Also, I haven't added any information to the article except for correction in one sentence. On the contrary, I have added citations to the already added content in the history section. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:06, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Weird, I don’t know how I missed the last paragraph, but I am having problems with my computer In any case that’s not a reliable source for history. We need reliably published secondary historical or archaeological sources. Doug Weller talk 21:35, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked 8090Updesh[edit]

Not just for their recent edits but also their many tries to write about themselves. One section on their early life simply said "Updesh is the best". Doug Weller talk 09:30, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Doug Weller Thank you. Dhruv edits (talk) 18:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

broadcasting contracts in India info[edit]

The entities I've added to the page are valid and current. I don't understand why you keep repeatedly removing them. Please stop. Shadess (talk) 16:13, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Legislative Councils[edit]

Legislative Councils Are Upper House of legislature. Irrespective of majority/Chair Person there is only one Government which is formed by Majority through Legislative Assembly

You have added BJP Leader Kota Srinivas Poojary as Leader of opposition and you kept BJP as government this is very confusing & misleading

You need to resolve this as soon as possible

Government Should be decided on the basis of Leader of House but you are deciding based on chairmanship

If you are not willing to change them let's go for voting from other Wikipedia users

The Leader Of the house belongs to government Dev Adhi (talk) 21:16, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
