The South American dwarf gecko (Lygodactylus wetzeli) is a species of lizard in the family Gekkonidae. The species is endemic to South America.

Etymology[edit]

The specific name, wetzeli, is in honor of American mammalogist Ralph M. Wetzel.[3]

Geographic range[edit]

L. wetzeli is found in eastern Bolivia, midwestern Brazil, and northern Paraguay.[2]

Habitat[edit]

The preferred natural habitat of L. wetzeli is savanna.[1]

Reproduction[edit]

L. wetzeli is oviparous.[2]
