Sonny Styles (born November 24, 2004) is an American football safety for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Early years and high school[edit]
Styles was born in Pickerington, Ohio and attended Pickerington Central High School. In Styles's high school career, he notched 88 tackles with one going for a loss, a sack, two pass deflections, six interceptions, and a forced fumble.[1] On August 30, 2020, in a rival game against Pickerington High School North, Styles had nine tackles, an interception and blocked a punt, on a televised game as Ohio State coaches watched it.[2] Syles was rated a five star recruit coming out of high school.[3] Styles would decide to commit to play college football at The Ohio State University over other schools such as Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss.[4][5]
College career[edit]
In Styles first season he notched nine tackles with one going for a loss.[6] Styles was named a starting safety for the Buckeyes going into their week one matchup in 2023.[7] In his first start he played 49 snaps where he had four tackles with 1.5 being for a loss, as he helped Ohio State beat Indiana.[8]
Personal life[edit]
His dad is former NFL linebacker Lorenzo Styles, and his brother is Ohio State cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr.[9][10]
