Writing for Clash, Robin Murray wrote that on the track, 21 Savage made "each bar count" and that the song "ooze[s] menace".[2] Pitchfork's Matthew Ritchie wrote that the song includes "a heightened version of his whisper flow arises on the hook" before "returning to truncated one-liners about Flipmode squad and sneaky links that hit like prizefighter jabs".[3]

Composition[edit]

Matthew Ritchie for Pitchfork wrote that the "Coupe-produced trap beat that leaves you bouncing your shoulders without even noticing".[3] Writing for Rolling Stone, Mosi Reeves stated that the song is a standout on the album and it aids its success due to "21 Savage’s uninhibited, Lil Wayne-like punchlines" that he raps on the song.[4]
