Hmm... Why there are so little women in this list? Only 2-3 in a month, some months had none, and I think four was the largest per month. 82.141.95.242 (talk) 02:00, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If counted right, there are 171 men and 24 women. So there are over 7 times more men in that list. Seems to be too big difference within sexes. 82.141.95.242 (talk) 02:18, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And every picture included is of a man. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:43:100:AFA0:B910:B3E1:F403:FD36 (talk) 00:48, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Now has more allocation of images, including adjustment to what had been balance of only 5 born and raised nations. Jmg38 (talk) 06:24, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdays only?[edit]

This years-old page's name is misleading, reinforced by misleading explanation in the lede. This entire article appears to only be birthdays. It is used for one thing only, to populate the box "This month's birthdays" (not "This month's anniversaries") on the main Portal:LGBT page.

Searching the article for any of the following terms comes up empty, showing no examples of important dates to note regarding a unique LGBT accomplishment or a standout societal backlash or a standout societal breakthrough affecting the LGBT community:

  • anniversaries, anniversary
  • death, died, murdered
  • date of first to be elected for...
  • date of stoned, shunned, denied
  • date found guilty, found innocent
  • date of first to act when laws added, laws changed, laws canceled
  • date of first to be accepted at...
  • date of first to be hired as...
  • date of coming out, came out

Are none of these other non-birthday events worth noting? Are they already noted elsewhere, for a "This day in LGBT history" type portal?

I am not arguing for or against adding any of these, simply looking at this as a housekeeping item. This "Portal:LGBT/Selected anniversaries" is currently just a list of birthdays, has been for many years, so maybe it should just say "Selected birthdays" in this page's title and in the description shown in the lede.
