Questions[edit]

Who is running this portal? How are the articles and pictures selected? Non of Chile-editors I know uses this portal.. so this seems a little bit of a phantom place. Somebody here?Dentren | ^Talk 17:51, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, this portal does seem more or less abandoned. The news is outdated, and the DYK section could be expanded to an archive. Nearly the whole page runs off a randomizer, which you can refresh by hitting "Show New Selections". Yea, blah. - Ruodyssey (talk) 16:50, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Status report from the Portals WikiProject[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018.

Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, and design the portals of the future.

As of April 29th, membership is at 56 editors, and growing.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for each component of portals.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

Updated portal using Template:Transclude random excerpt, providing current, up-to-date information that is verbatim to article content. A consensus approving the usage of transclusion templates in portals was formed at this Village Pump discussion. Used selections from Portal:Chile/Selected article and Portal:Chile/Selected biography.
Added more articles to diversify and round-out the portal and provide a more comprehensive topical overview (diff).
