Mahfuz Alam (Bengali: মাহফুজ আলম) also known as Mahfuz Abdullah, is a Bangladeshi student activist and a coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Students Movement which led both the 2024 quota reform movement and the non-cooperation movement.[2]

He currently holds the position of Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.[3][4][5]

Early life and education

Mahfuz was born in 1995 in Ichapur village, located in the Ramganj Upazila of Lakshmipur district. He completed his SSC (Dakhil) from Gallak Darussunnat Alim Madrasa in Chandpur, and later passed his HSC (Alim) from Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa.[6] In the academic year 2015-16, he was a student in the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka.[7]
