Copyright status[edit]

Since it was first published prior to 1/1/1923, this is public domain in the US; I've marked it as such. It might be public domain in Canada also, in which case it can be moved to Commons, but I don't know enough about it to determine that. If the person who created the image died by 12/31/1961, OR if this was considered a "work for hire" with copyright owned by the NHL, then I think it is now PD in Canada. If it was not a "work for hire" AND the creator lived until 1962 or later, then I think it is still copyrighted in Canada. Thanks, cmadler (talk) 13:26, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
